A lot of people don't understand how Oda writes Kid.
Yes, Kid loses a lot. But like Luffy, he always comes back from his losses.
I remember Mr. Morj made an observation about Kid that I thought was very insightful. Luffy is rubber and hence he always bounces back from his defeats. This can be seen in how Luffy gets defeated multiple times in a single fight but always comes out stronger(see: Katakuri, Kaido). Kid on the other hand is magnetism, while he gets defeated often, he always rebuilds himself from his defeats.
This concept of Kid "rebuilding" himself can be seen in his actual powers. This is something he reiterates about his metal structures. However this is something you can see in Kid's character as well.
Before Shanks, the worst loss that Kid took was against Beckman, where Kid lost his arm. However this didn't stop Kid and end his journey, rather he simply replaced his arm with metal. This proved to be useful later on.
Not only did it save him from Hawkins's powers, it led to the creation of Kid's ultimate technique.
With damned punk, Kid transforms his metal arm into the rail gun. Both times we have seen this technique, it has consistently been used in this manner.
So with Kid's defeat at the hands of Shanks and the giants and the seeming "eradication" of the Kid pirates, one wonders how Kid will rebuild himself after this.
Now while the narration says the Kid pirates were eradicated, it doesn't say specifically that Kid died. No, Oda has never killed an important character in such an ambiguous manner. So its safe to say that Kid probably survived somehow. Maybe Killer did as well, as Oda thought he was important enough to be on the roof and get a fight in wano. However Kid's crew? I feel like its very likely that they died. Hence there likely were some words of truth to the narration.
Much how Kid's loss against Beckman led him to replace his missing limb with metal, his loss to Shanks will cause Kid to replace his missing crew with metal.
We know that somewhere in Elbaf, there is a library containing the Ohara books. Books that Vegapunk gained knowledge of advanced ancient kingdom technology from. I believe that Kid will study these books after his defeat and ultimately learn to create automata from them.
Kid will replace his dead crew with an army of robots. In doing so, he will create a massive and powerful crew capable of making him emperor after the elbaf arc.
My guess is that he will replace Shanks after Blackbeard defeats him.
