In a manga where one of the main underlings from the main character has the dream of becoming the best swordsman, its only right that the arc named as LAND OF THE SWORDSMAN would have a focus on him or so it was supposed to be, not to mention the current best swordsman NEVER being mentioned, not even once.
Franky has displayed his admiration for VP several times, is a robot and the main engineer inside the crew. Its only right that an arc focused on science, robots, technology and engineering would have the ROBOT ENGINEER as its main character, but as we all know, it doesnt work like this.

Even then Sanji's arc in WCI was unneeded and ass for a variety of reasons. So its a lose lose situation for every character involved that's not Luffy.
100% facts. I personally found it weird that Zoro hasn't done shit in Wano the entire time Luffy wasn't present. You'd think he'd at least try to venture around the country to find strong swordsmen or discover more lore on Ryuma or something, but instead he was mindlessly wandering around the place like a complete drunktard, only to get framed for murder and then kill a magistrate soon after. Honestly laughable on how high our expectations were back then. Now I've learned my lesson and expect less than the bare minimum.

Now back on topic the best that Ussop fans can hope for is for the giants to witness Ussop not backing down against a foe despite having seemingly no chance to come out as the victor, inspiring them and lauding Ussop's name, but absolutely nothing else as Ussop will still be the same pussy with maybe a little more courage. A moment is all Oda will spare for the fodder.
Alternatively Ussop could receive a horrendous character rewrite and suddenly become extremely brave, which would be absolute garbage, but at least Ussop will have shown some actual progression towards his goal, and will also give the Ussop fandom more material to cope with the fact that he's a trash can.
