Judging by the pattern of the Monkey family, where Garp, Dragon and Luffy are all D's, plus Gol D Roger and Portgas D Rouge giving birth to Portgas D Ace, it is safe to assume that will of D is hereditary and thus, Vivi inherited Lili's D and most likely also her legacy and will. But I agree that we don't know enough to conclude what exactly it means.
To me, why being that one clan out of 20 kingdoms feels important since it's been brought up fairly early in the story, plus with the addition of info drop on Lili who disappeared and on top of that thwarted some of the plans of then newly formed WG, with her letter having her will and probably guidelines how to bring the current WG down, it seems like Vivi will still play a big part of the story. Other princesses I remember are Rebecca (I expect nothing of her), Shirahoshi (probably will awaken her Poseidon powers when needed in the final war), Pudding (have no idea what Oda plans for her tbh) and arguably Momo is a male version of an arc princess (guess he'll use Plutón somehow?). The focus Vivi got during Reverie arc and flashbacks of that arc bumped up her importance to me, he story seems unfinished, and I am sure she will have a bigger impact on the new order than the rest of the princesses.
But I can be wrong, I believed in Yamato joining after all :kobeha:
That's just a theory. Vivi has never been identified as a D. And even if she was a D, that doesn't make her more important than the strawhats, especially Zoro, Robin, and Jinbei. Vivi will probably be a main character for the final arc, but she will never be more important than Luffy's crew.

I view the D as something you're invited into. This scene seems really goofy and like it's just a joke:

But I think it's very imortant, and that Ace calling Sabo SAD.BO means Ace "gave" Sabo the name.

One Piece is all about found family: Luffy treated Sabo and Ace like brothers, even though they we're blood related.

Garp raised Ace as his son, even though Roger was his greatest rival.

The Straw Hats are a family that came from broken families/bad circumstances. We see this again in Wano with Tama and Speed, Tama and Sukiyaki, and Toko and Yasuie.

The D Clan wasn't a bloodline at all, it was never about blood; it was about Nakama. The D is the inital Joy Boy gave his Nakama. Pedro formed the Nox Pirates to bring abotu the Dawn, so, I believe Joy Boy's Pirate crew was the "Dawn Pirates", which fits with Luffy's straw hat resembling the sun rising over the red line/sea.

So, by now, all of the Straw Hats technically are part of the D clan; people with checkered fates who chose to fight against the world to bring about the Dawn.

We know nothing of Garp's father, right? I wonder when Garp got the D initial... was he born with it, or could he have learned of it while serving in the Marines? Imagine Garp learned he's a D on God Valley?

I also thought that the "D" could just be given to someone by just telling them they are family now. It would be nice if it were this easy and Oda would go for it, as it is in general a nice gesture.

It's exactly how Luffy operates, treating his crew and friends like family.

Yakuza exchanged cups of sake to form brotherhoods/welcome people into the family, and Luffy did the same with Sabo and Ace, and later the Grand Fleet.

The scene with Ace, Sabo, and Luffy discussing the D is foreshadowing Luffy as Joy Boy giving the D initial to the Straw Hat crew while exchanging cups of Sake, to finally reform the D. Tribe, the Dawn Pirates.

The One Piece is a giant collection of Sake, with different bottles from all parts of the world, meant to celebrate the world uniting as "One Piece". The end of the series will be the entire world throwing a feast, and sharing that Sake so that all the tribes/countries of the world become one great family, one world, One Piece.

And it's all thanks to Caribou /s

Vivi is not a D, her ancestor was. And even if she was, so are characters like Saul. And again, being royalty doesn't make her more important. Who cares if she's decended from the original 20 kingdoms? You'll have to explain why this makes her important.
I support the theory that Saul is Joyboy descendant.
We all know oda has no problem to kill flashback characters, but Saul is the only one he resurrected (this is big indication that he will do something important, for me at least).
If mary geoise strawhat is joyboy original strawhat then joyboy was a giant. Joyboy for sure has D in his name. The only giant D family is Jaguar, so...
And an interesting detail, Saul said to Robin that his family is not from Elbaf (I wonder why oda give us this information that seems to be no important at all)

Of course it make sence, she is part of the crew and right now she is hidding
She’s not hiding, she’s captured. She doesn’t have the freedom to leave Morgan’s balloon so right now she’s literally up in the air until oda puts Morgan’s and Wapol somewhere; which likely will be with Cross Guild since Morgan’s is one of the financiers of it.
