He was using barrier Haki, ACoC wouldve given him the AP necessary to perhaps break the barrier. He was touching him but not doing damage.

Well i would say ACoC , ACoA and G5 my man did need to get KO to learn all of them to be top tier.

Rayleigh expressed no desire to get to the SHs, he was there to stop Kizaru in his tracks and that was what he did.

To me, it's pretty clear he's using a similar "defense" to Sentomaru - Palms & Guards with Barrier Haki to block.

He is shooting lasers it seems like. Don't think he's using any guard there

This was always going to end up being a G5 fight unless you think new power up don't get use .
Both Luffy and Kizaru will get some more hits in over next few chapters.
