Another observation I picked up throughout the timeskip is the idea that Akainu is very frustrated with his current position and not being able to act on piracy (as if the WG prevents him from doing so):

Now, just the latest, being used to defend Marijoa instead of the God Knights, then being insulted once again for it:

Mark my words, Egghead will serve as the catalyst to cause Akainu to do whatever he sees fit. It's a joint Marine and WG operation, one where you have people like Saturn calling everyone else "insects" and expendable because they are beneath his will.

The next stage is coming at that point, and the Marines will likely start taking a far more agressive approach towards the Yonko if Kizaru loses.

And I have my own doubts a about Akainu remaining on the WG as far as EoS.

The problem? If the Gorosei are not top tiers fighter, or Imu can't fodder literally everyone, the WG don't have enough forces to be a threat in the final war

Kuma is gone. Evidently from the last page with Akainu, he headed towards the New World/Egghead.

Edit: Theres a reason the whole Kuma/Akainu scene is from "Yesterday". Its because Oda needed Kuma to be somewhere/Egghead very soon, so he's not in Marijoa anymore

Can’t expect the usual suspects to be reasonable.

On topic, I partly agree with you. It’s no coincidence that Oda chose to highlight Akainu in a frustrating situation with the useless CDs shouting at him. Also showing a little glimpse into a past with Bonney & Kuma.

I’m still iffy on how it will all play out, but I see an eruption as inevitable.
