Also I think there seems to be confusion with Sukuna's CT, the cuts don't "travel" like they're air slashes from Mihawk.

It's essentially just pointing at an object and then it splits in half.

That's what I suggested in my initial post, the "cuts that don't travel", but if that's all there is to it no adaptation or new trick was needed, yet the dialogue directly states he needed to learn something from the adaptation.
