Oden should have been capable of flow but I never considered it as advanced. It's Luffy who called it advanced because he couldnt use it.
Even those who are capable of internal destruction like Rayleigh dont seem to have any use at all for such an inferior combat style because they have something far better - a sword and they arent bullied by scales to need to bypass them, they just cut through.

It explains why Kaido was bleeding from Inside, having blood in his mouth. If he was cut only with normal haki, he wouldn't be bleeding from his mouth

I'm not sure about Shanks. He might have the strongest haki in the series which means he could very well fight not only by using his sword. We just can't tell right now. His CoC is definitely incredibly powerful if not the strongest.
