Why would a wind logia be a watered down version of gas? The Gas logia being able to manipulate and absorb oxygen around a limited area = large scale wind creation and manipulation, which would include creating storms and hurricanes. In chapter 100, Dragon seemingly manipulated the weather and created a storm that went far beyond the island.
None of what you said makes any sense. You make it sound like gas fruit users are limited to a smaller radius through that one suffocation technique when they would obviously have as much range as the other logias especially if the user is a top tier like Dragon hypothetically
Caesar could already manipulate the Land of Death gas thing and it was an island wide gas cloud. Zero proof Dragon caused the storm, storms are natural too and it’s not like that’s a combat feat that can be applied.

- Kilo fruit and Ton fruit
- Blade fruit and Weapon fruit
- Snow fruit and ice fruit
- Several sweets (Biscuit, Candy, Mochi)
What cannot exist in parallel:
- A Gas Logia that manipulates and removes oxygen around a small area
- A Wind Logia that allows you to create storms and hurricanes island wide and create wind based attacks
The Gas Logia controls gas period, genius. That includes the gases in the air.
A wind paramecia could do that too and not be a carbon copy that’s a debuff.
You people need to pick up a dictionary. Wind is just invisible gases moving, no reason that would be a seperate logia from the Gas fruit which is the be all end all
