Fuu On and Ba Fu Ji are new generals. Possibly Kaine too? Nice to see Kyou Kai and her 10K to be acknowledge on the map.

Fu Tei now commands 30K, same number as Ba Nan Ji and Shun Sui Ju, who are Ri Boku's deputies.

The Seika Army totals 100K (assuming they're not incorporating other armies in their ranks), that's significantly more than I had anticipated for a mid-sized city, but that probably makes all the more sense because of it.

Ou Sen is indeed taking on Shi Ba Shou. I did not think he would if that meant YTW faced Ri Boku, but it appears Ri Boku is hanging in the reserve. I take from that that Ou Sen is concerned about numerical disadvantages and is taking on the toughest defensive assignment because that is his greatest strength.

It's quite a statement for Shin to be appointed in command of the Qin Right and trusted to take on an army more than twice the size of his own.

I suspect Ou Sen is keeping Ou Hon in the reserve for either an opportunity in the centre or to assist the HSU in pushing through the Zhao Left. I half suspect that he anticipates Ri Boku will move to the Zhao Right and send Fu Tei's 30K to intercept the HSU, so he will instruct Ou Hon to intercept Fu Tei and carry the order for Shin to flank Shi Ba Shou in the Zhao Centre.

Very puzzled why En Kan has 70K men instead of 100K, and why Kotsu Min Haku only has 20K. Of course I'm still most curious about the 250K number for Qin. That figure only makes sense if Ou Sen left behind a reserve AFTER all the armies linked up.

This could be used to draw SBS to have Shin fall back.

Shin manages to get a glimpse of Riboku, SBS comes in clutch and forces him to retreat
That or Enkan has some currently hidden backup in a few extra Generals like Kisui+Batei and/or Choukotsu.
We supposed to get excited about Shin facing random northern general #12
:josad:

Hara didn’t give that guy an ounce of hype lol, I’d rather see Shin vs Kisui (Zhao’s number one jobber) before Shin vs Enkan.
I am still holding out hope that the valiant Choukotsu comes in clutch against Shin. :fransuper:

I'm over here thinking that we would get Shin vs Kansaro lol.

Like seriously, let's think about this from Riboku's perspective. Let's ignore the fact that Shin killed Houken.

Shin defeated Chou Garyuu in a clean fight, Chou Garyuu straight up used a 3GH level defense tactic on Shin and also performed an optimal retreat and Shin still defeated him.

Shin also defeated Gakuhaku Kou with an extreme terrain disadvantage.

Shin ALSO broke through Gakushou's Seika army and escaped the encirclement at Gian. Riboku himself fangasmed at this feat.

So if I'm Riboku, I'm over here thinking that Shin at this point is a legit key general of Qin and has to be taken extremely seriously. He must just know a lot of shit about Enkan that we don't as I never got the impression that Enkan was a particularly strong Zhao general lol, he was just kind of there at Gian.

Either Riboku has some serious confidence in Enkan, or he's just betting on Shibashou steamrolling Ousen in the center and just doesn't really care what happens on the Zhao left, lol

Shin vs Enkan is just the opening act I feel to hype our boy up before Kansaro moves to the right as the replacement.

Are we to believe Ou Sen, Yo Tan Wa and Ou Hon only brought 40K between them? The absolute lowest they should've had between them 3 times that (50K + 50k + 20K).
Ouhon is shown to have 30k on the map. But yeah, it's pretty confusing.

I was going off like worst case scenario, like in case Shin got 30K because of Kyou Kai being a full fledged general.

If we go off last confirmed sizes:
  • Ou Sen Army = 70K (not given since Shukai)
  • YTW Army = 70K (latest spoilers)
  • GHA = 30K (latest spoilers)

250K needs an explanation.
For Ousen, maybe he had to leave Atusuyo heavily defended (it basically serves as the gateway between South-North Zhao). But Yotanwa is hard to defend, and it's obvious she has way more than 10k Mountain warriors on the map.

During the Gian Campaign, Ka Ryo Ten said Kan Ki leaving Atsuyo with only 90K was half of their numbers without the Ou Sen Army. Taking into account Ten wasn't necessarily literal, that put the Ou Sen Army at 70-90K range, so no smaller than it was at Shukai.

Based on that information, I imagine the plan was for Ou Sen to station 20K of his men at Atsuyo, and that may not have changed.

Yo Tan Wa brought the 81K Ryouyou Army into the fold, so I expected her numbers to be 50-70K even after stationing adequate armies in Heiyou and Bujou, which are close to Tou's position in Gyou and presumably wouldn't need as many men to defend them.

More than the numbers, but nevertheless still related to them, I'm surprised we're getting one big battlefield.

I was expecting ~350K Qin vs +400K Zhao split across at least two battlefields. This is still exciting as though.

Hara's just afraid to give Qin the advantage for any battle, like even ignoring Zhao pulling 300k out of their ass after Kanki's beheadings no sense
To be fair, if Zhao can recover from Hakuki's execution of 400,000 prisoners of war (which came after whatever number of casualties Zhao sustained from fighting Hakuki + Ouki for two years straight) then Zhao should be able to recover from Kanki's 100k beheading rampage. Lol.
