This revelation would be a lot better to me if not for Oda's previous actions in the arc.

Highlighting the evilness of sexual violence rings hollow when you as the creator have been sexualizing the child of it.

If the brain, as organ, has grown above a specific threshold, if the individual parts of that brain have grown to a size we consider adult size, the person inhabiting that brain and that body is an adult.

Growing up is not a metaphor. We literally grow while we grow up. Kids are kids because their brains have not grown to a size in which it enables certain ways of thinking (risk management, responsibilities, empathy and all the other things we say adults have and children lack).

So if boney changes her bodies age and turns it into a mid 20 yo chick, then boney is a mid 20 yo chick.
