Better have something like the Al-Andalus civilization in Europe than the Spanish Inquisition
Not sure about that one tho:zorothink:
First, fuck you for saying those people deserved to live as second class citizens.Spanish Inquisition is overblown.
And secondly, f you for strawmanning around the block and distracting from the original topic: the Catholic church as a major player in the advancement of international imperialism and forced conversions to Christianity.
Exactly, these dumb motherfuckers don't know history.Muslims started invading Christian lands all over the place. The crusades were a response to muslim aggression.
We were talking about colonialism and you are bringing up the crusades out of nowhere.

Conversions to Christianity is what the Church is all about.Lolis.

Oh I almost forgot about this one

Why is it funny coming from a south american?Because we were colonized by Europeans Christians?I think the Spanish and Portuguese colonization was a beautiful and good thing.English colonization not so much, too much racism and violence.Portuguese and Spanish mixed with the local population. As for the Islam thing,it will work just because of demographics, they have way too many kids and migrate constantly.
Listen,if you guys want to talk about Latin/North american colonization we can create a thread for this.Get back on topic before mods start deleting posts left and right.
always deflecting and moving goalposts, it's always the others' fault and his people always the victims

Yes and i say it again:

Hey, stop talking Portuguese to avoid a ban, lol.
Sorry. I actually wrote the post to everyone and actually didn't notice that it was in portuguese. Let's try again:

So, just to make my point clear because, looking at my post, it may seem that I'm against Al-andalus.

Being honest, I think that what the muslim did (looking at the historical context) was one of the best ideas for pacific coexistence between groups and integration between population in a natural way without the use of violence. I have no doubts that a lot of families that are muslims today came from groups that decided to convert in order to pay less taxes. Considering how both Europe and Asia dealt with different ideas and groups that was a genial idea. Again, my point of view is taking the ideals and moral of people living in those times in consideration.

People can click on the quote to read the conversation if they wish to do so.
I am not interested in warming up a 1 1/2 year old discussion with a 10 year old.

To each their own.Iberians and Europpeans already had a established religion that had its similarities to Islam.
As i said, i do not know the whole picture so i wont talk too much. But i think it's not necessarily a shit take

Back when portuguese was colonizing southeast asia, Ottoman was actually helping the locals to fight back the colonization. I think there's virtually no history book that would picture Ottoman as a bad guy in southeast asia

Because I remembered it.
I remember what you told me back then too:

I'm not familiar with southeast asian history,so i will abstain from commenting about it.
