If Oda makes Bonney and Kuma react to the Drums of Liberation, leading to Kuma regaining his consciousness and crying(showing an emotion for the first time after being turned into a cyborg) and he gets saved, it will put his story into a full circle.

The man knew about Nika, probably prayed to him(the church has the symbol of the Sun), he learnt the drums of liberation from his father just before the latter was killed, taught it to kid bonney as well. Imagine the scene when he finally hears it, the tune of the God he worships, the tune of the man who will finally put his slavery to rest. Oda, I know you will deliver and we will be there.
