I remember I used to despise Kaine and Futei with a passion (no hyperbole) but the recent arcs somehow made them somewhat grow on me to the point where I’m neutral towards them. Futei isn’t as much of a punk anymore and I like the Riboku/Kaine relationship for its story potential.

I can’t really think of any character I hate now tbh.

Who are your Top 3 or Top 5 least favourite characters in Kingdom so far?

It’s a testament to Hara that I really don’t speed read or dislike any of his characters outright. Other manga I feel like there are big chunks of the cast I don’t care for in the slightest, but not with Hara.

With one exception of course, Kyoukai. I’ve ranted endlessly on her in the past and I won’t repeat any of that here. I don’t dislike her all the time, her romance plot with Shin has been fine, and I don’t dislike her when she’s in the background where she belongs, but anytime it’s time for a big Kyoukai arc, I sigh in exasperation.

Haku rei is quite better

I don't care much about Kou Yoku (at least thus far) and Hara has shown extremely little of him compared to the Qin trio, but by the time of the Chu wars he definitely should be a force to be reckoned with. I don't know who will take him down but he's gonna be an impressive commander.

Who are your Top 3 or Top 5 least favourite characters in Kingdom so far?

1) Kyoukai and it is not even close. Most of you folk have seen my posts on her. I swear she belongs in a different manga. Lol.

2) Kanki is at a distant second to Kai. I initially liked him but he got progressively intolerable the more screen time he got. Every character Kanki interacts ends up wanting to suck him off despite the fact that he is an open degenerate. It is weird how many characters bend over backwards to accommodate the bloke.

Those are the only two characters I have come to truly dislike. Sure there are others that I don't care for much because I consider them memes (e.g. Futei) or because they are a character that was deliberately made to be detestable (e.g. Toujou) but they don't affect my enjoyment of the story. Kyoukai and Kanki do though (not that Kanki is is going to be much of a problem anymore. )

The only characters I dislike are the ones whose treatment and relevance are at odds with what I think is better for the story, e.g. characters that authors are personally fixated on and/or that are so popular their inclusion is demanded for everything.

Kingdom fortunately doesn't have that problem.

Even Kan Ki, who Hara was clearly very fond of, did not get a ton of panel time in the manga. Though I suspect a spin-off manga or light novel about him will be announced at some point in the neat future, for sure.

Kyo Rei, Futei, Ten, Ri Haku (he’s always hyped up but mostly does nothing big), Shun Sui Ju, Fuuon, Yoku (Chu), Queen Mother, Rou Ai are some of the meh characters imo.
