@Sir Yasheen Kuma's FB confirmed that Rocks only went there to take back something that was stolen from him (the Beehive treasure), I dont think the island was special outside of the fact that it was removed from maps due to the conflict there and the fact that the CDs were committing genocide.

I dont think this series will ever veer off course again. We will get Elbaf, Lodestar, Laughtale (and at worst, something between Elbaf and Lodestar) and the final war if it’s not included in the above.

The island became special because of its significance. The death of Rox D. Xebec, a man Blackbeard named his flagship after and the birth of Figarland Shanks, a man Luffy based his ideology after both occurred on this island.

The idea that its non important in the current world is as silly as saying Elbaf is unimportant imo.

The event is hyped up, nothing suggests there's something intrinsic to the Island unless you believe BB and Luffy are going to be digging for jewels in the ground there.

Also there are several islands they could have a confrontation on. Hell, they could even have a confrontation at Sea if Oda feels like it.

Why exactly must they clash at God Valley when as far as we know, everything of import there, left there.

Because the significance this island has to both characters??

Blackbeard is heavily influenced by Rox D. Xebec, a man who died on god valley.

Luffys is heavily influenced by Shanks, a man who was born on god valley.

The importance is that locations connection to the influences of both of the front runners of the pirate kings crown.

I disagree. When Oda hides an island of significance, we never actually see said island beforehand. Elbaf is important largely because Oda has hidden the design of the island, much like Lodestar and Laugh Tale. Beehive and God Valley are two islands he's shown completely via flashbacks or other perspectives. I would have agreed until Kuma's flashback deflated the idea.

I argue that whats important is Rocks' fate and the treasure he was after, not necessarily the island itself. We already know we'll get a true God Valley flashback showing the conflict in the future, but I dont think that means the island will be anything featured other than this, unless somehow its Uranus and it flew away lol (which is a theory I have, just no longer supported by Kuma's FB).

They don’t need to schedule it; it’s just where the plot is leading to. The fated duel of these two taking place on the same island as the fated duel between Roger and his greatest adversary Rox.
