Hidan and kakuzu only kept up with kakashi cause he didnt wanna use MS to be in hospital later + they were using dirty tricks attacking weaker ones so kakashi was distracted saving them

He’s tha clear cut slowest fighter among tha Akatsuki. Conversely, Kisames 30% clone was able to go up against and match guy. To tha point guy had to buss out tha 6th gate to beat em before his team drowned to death

Then we have tha fact that Kisame fought and was gonna kill Killer Bee. Someone WAY faster than Hidan. Plus Kisame got his chest caved in from Bee’s version 2 lariat. And was still alive and able to get back up(granted he used tha chakra he stole from Bee to do it). Point is Hidan doesn’t have a way to put Kisame down. And he’s jus straight up out statted

Match-up can end up becoming a lopsided decision to one side in favour of the other if the two combatants have no intel on each other's abilities, which is what ninja typically tend to require before a mission which involves the scenario of some kind of fight.

Hidan's ability that requires him to draw the Jashin symbol on the ground has lets him passively inflict the damage sustained back to his opponent as long as he has acquired his opponent's blood + him being within the circular Jashin symbol.

If the above ever happens then it's going to be a nightmare for Kisame to finish this guy with Samehada.

Maybe Kisame's Water Prison Shark Dance Technique can cause Hidan to drown and permanently lose consciousness?

I said arguably.

I think Asuma was an inherently more novel opponent and perhaps therefore trickier to figure out, but that's a good point. Hidan, to his credit, is absolutely much more skilled than Asuma.

Kisame would need foresight of Hidan's abilities to really lock in. Though, perhaps the fact Hidan was a S-ranked ninja would be enough for him to lock in. idk.

Hidan is no cakewalk, that's for sure.
