We dont know when Kaido was defeated and by whom, probably happened before he reached his prime else it would contradict his 1vs1 reputation.
So then we can posit that maybe Kaido challenged Xebec in his ship and lost, challenged WB in the rocks days and lost ? And then lost to Roger in God Valley?

I feel like we got context about Kaido's ''Captures'' in that he was willingly getting himself captured to get food and logding, so what stops some or most of his defeats to be from those captures?
Also nothing wrong with Kaido having lost to weaker characters then those 3 during his growth, its not like Luffy didnt lose to the likes of Alabasta croc multiple times and now here he is.
Why dont you post the panel before this one? The one that debunks your headcanon and that people refuse to aknowledge? The one where Kaido says that that list is a list of people capable of fighting him?

This is purely headcanon but instead of power, I always liked to think of it as a clockwise order of significant events in Kaido's history:
1) Xebec - First real encounter around 46 years ago at age 15. Joined the crew and saw his strength.
2) Roger - Between 46 - 38 years ago. Kaido implied in chapter 1096 at God Valley that he had a previous encounter with Roger.
3) Newgate - Either during their time on rocks or the years following their dissolution.
4) Oden - Gave him the scar 20 years ago (and lifetime PTSD).
5) Shanks - Right before Marineford when Shanks intercepted and some clash ensured.
Does this mean it's true? Well, I'm reading twopiece and it's confirmed there.
