Oh I wholeheartedly agree. I don't think Nika is great or anything, but I've grown to accept its place in the story more than when it was just introduced.
Still, Oda should have and could have laid some obvious seeds for it at least back on Fishman Island
I don’t ever see myself growing to accept Nika. Simply one of the worst decisions Oda made for the story.
Everything was close to perfect beforehand, so it just leaves a bitter taste anytime Nika is mentioned.
Just because we have to live with it doesn’t mean that we have to accept it. What’s worse is the revisionist history that some try to do to pretend the story was always that way.

He did going back all the way to Skypeia, for the "sun god" anyway. I really like Nika personally. But 1044 was undeniably out of complete nowhere. It's probably that he just didn't come up with Gear 5th till late in the game, probably halfway through Wano. Whenever that comment about him not knowing how Luffy would beat Kaido was, it was at least not before then.
If he had seeded the sun god stuff all through wano and put some hints about Luffy's devil fruit a bit earlier, it'd have been smooth enough.
The Skypiea “Sun god” nonsense is still weak because they were trying to sacrifice a young girl to him. Clearly has nothing to do with Nika as presented…and that’s besides the Rain, Earth & Forest gods mentioned too.

- Luffy needed his strongest form to even be competitive.
- Luffy couldn’t KO Kizaru in chapter 1093 like your editors note prophecy
- Kizaru got up before Luffy and didn’t even need any food to do so
- Luffy needed external help to even continue fighting Kizaru (I thought it would be the light touching gloves involved, so that’s my 1 failed prediction)
- Kuma arrived to save Bonney, not Luffy restarting his heart in seconds
- It was the Giants that showed up to save the Strawhats, not the Grand Fleet
Every step of the way you’ve failed, had to backtrack (ZKK no longer being a fact for you), tried to ignore things, etc.
The only agenda failing here is yours…and it would have been obvious if you took just mere minutes to use the brain God gave you instead of dallying with some of the worst trolls.
