There is not really much to discuss here if we take Kaido titles of wsc and ws pirate as reality and literal then G5 Luffy defeating him , showing stronger Haki in their clash , pulling something like Barajung gun and tanking everything Kaido could throw at him , all this means Luffy is already at top and some restrictions simply had to be made . G5 is peak and it needs restriction for others to compete.

No one is arguing that G5 isn't OP. I have unlimited G5 above Kaido. But his time limit hampers him bad. Also Luffy isn't called WSC/WSM after beating Kaido.

It doesn't need to be unlimited if we remove the narrative and pis nothing stops Luffy from pulling Barajung gun on the beginning and one shotting pretty much everyone so far.

Unless you can fly to leave , you are not dodging something that huge , also Luffy original intention was to hold Kaido while he hits him , so Kaido had to use Lava dragon to break Luffy's stretched arm hold on him.

So barely anyone has both means ( flying and ability to break luffy hold on him ) in order to effectively escape Barajung gun. Maybe Kizaru and Kaido only to be honest ( Kizaru only because he is too fast ).

Old garp was pretty fast zigzagging ; Shanks also showed good speed against Kidd ; BM can fly using homie etc. So not really.

Garp and Shanks can't fly to leave an island and Luffy maintains ability to move himself they get hit eventually ( not like he needs Barajung gun for those who have shit durability compared to Kaido), BM is too slow to run away from Luffy.

He can use future sight for Garp and aim there, probably against Shanks too but I have no idea how would that work with 2 future sight users.

But Barajung gun is pretty much only needed for Kaido and Big Mom powerhouses with amazing durability for glass canons he doesnt need to bother using it to put them down as shown with Lucci / Kizaru.
