Delusional. He became stronger than Kaido the moment he defeated him. G5 Luffy vs Kaido had both fighters in same conditions. It was a fair fight.
It is unlikely of Oda to do fights like Law + Kid vs Big Mom. Specially now that Luffy peaked. Luffy vs Teach will be 1v1. Better chances of Teach getting help against Luffy than anything else.

The old Kaido after taking a single attack from fodder that died from explosion, mean whilst the one Luffy sleep diffed 1 shotting the person that could block admiral level attacks and face tank numerous explosions.

With G5 Luffy already surpassed Kaido so stop the cope. For the first time in their battle he started literally playing with him using him as whip or jump rope. He also tanked his elemantal and acoc attacks without any significant damage. Then he obliterated him with Barajung gun . Kaido doesnt have any feat that G5 Luffy didnt tank nor did he show anything that can compete with Barajung gun.
Kaido was already surpassed by Luffy awakening G5.
1. Luffy took each attack Kaido has shown in manga , during G5 round Luffy tanked :
- 10 acoc kanabo attack from Kaido which included :
- direct hit to head from strongest version of Ragnaraku ( Warai Jogo Ragnaraku )
- direct hit from strongest version of thunder baguya ( destroyer of death thunder baguya ) ( lesser version was enough to one shot him before )
- Kundali dragon swarm
- couple direct acoc attacks directly to head
- tanked full force of blast breath
- tanked his wind attack demolition gust
- tanked heat from his lava dragon and overpowered it
There isnt any attack Kaido has show that G5 Luffy didnt tank .
2. Defeated his strongest form / attack with Barajung gun. Kaido didnt show any attack that surpasses Barajung gun
3. G5 Luffy Haki overpowered Kaido Haki . This was evident with description of their final attacks colliding where it was stated a fierce haki clash , we know Luffy won . But this should not be surprise because even without G5 Luffy matched Kaido haki when they split the sky.

Summary : G5 Luffy showed capability to tank every attack Kaido has shown in manga , he demonstrated higher attack power with Barajung gun, and strength of his haki proved superior.

G5 luffy never fought fresh Kaido. Kaido was already getting tired since second round of Adv coc and luffy began as noted by Yamato. Simply because BG is more than Kaido's finisher doesn't mean luffy is above. It was Kaido's mentality to tank that attack head on.

Luffy was already knocked out and had to be carried by Zoro even before he reached Kaido . For entire time Jinbei and Sanji were telling him to save his strength for Kaido.
Another thing people always chose to ignore is Luffy lost 2 rounds to Kaido because he didnt figure out how to properly use acoc ( at first round at Kuri he did not even have it or advanced armament and on second round its usage was crude and clumsy )
Once Luffy figured out how to use his acoc properly he matched Kaido for entire round 3 he even matched his Haki by splitting the sky and only got defeated after CP0 guy intervention he was already around his level even before G5.
