We'll also ignore that Luffy already defeated Kizaru temporarily and dealt with him in a similar manner than Lucci, highlighting that he is above him

Defeating an admiral is not bringing him anything else at this point

And why would Luffy care about that? Also he wouldn't learn that. Luffy is too slow to understand that. We only understand because Oda is showing to us. If he didn't and suddenly the robot shows up everyone would call it plot armor, asspull and starts to make terrible theories on why the Robot was there(saying it was Devon + Van Augur or Caribou for example).

Kizaru is a swordsman there is no better match up for him than marimo. You would not see me argue zoro to go up against Kuzan for example if he was on egghead instead same with akainu
