Would not teaching kids cursive writing even matter to the development of a kid's education as much as teaching a kid the ability to learn & absorb information + practicing technologically relevant skills?

Cursive writing seems to be turning into an archaic form of written communication since there's no need for such a skill in the digital age where someone can write up a sentence by typing something on a LCD screen & even plain old writing is more than sufficient enough for written communication on a piece of paper.

That being said?

It is a bit concerning that the necessitiy of physically writing down something on a piece of paper will slowly decrease (taking notes on a tablet in school via typing it instead of writing it) & the necessity for the ability to read large chunks of text will also decrease since "why read a huge book when you can watch a video of that same topic online?"
I guess I look at cursive like a rite of passage. I remember being eager to learn it in the 3rd grade because my older sister knew it.

It's not just writing/reading skills, etc. I believe a decline started in my generation of learning practical skills. If suddenly, everything was gone. The future looks bleak. My dad's generation, almost all of them could live off the land. Just a mere fraction of mine could and I think each generation declines.

My grandfather lived through the Depression and had to have a job at 6 so his family could eat. So when his first child was born he started a farm with gardening and cattle. He taught his sons to work it and they were required to keep it running since my grandfather was a lawyer, later a judge. Then when the youngest graduated college, he immediately sold all his livestock. My dad questioned him about it since was my grandfather's proudest accomplishment. He said they served their purpose. He knew all his kids could survive if they ever fell into the position he did.

I hate thinking we as a society could fall into such despair again, but if we did, we are screwed. They say weak generations create strong generations and strong generations create weak ones.

Yeah, it's becoming a huge problem with developing fine motor skills in children.
When the time it takes to type up a paragraph on a keyboard is much shorter than the time it takes to write something on a piece of paper, typing would become the most convenient method of "writing" something out.

After years and years of being out of practice with skills that don't require significant amounts of mental (not necessarily physical) concentration, you wonder why these kids start developing ADHD...

cons of being a first world country and technology combined together

Have you seen recently what Americans complain about
Let me guess here. Is it about gender right issues or the cost of living skyrocketing in liberal cities?

I wonder if developed first world countries such as China/South Korea/Japan/Singapore also encounter this problem or if they got around it somehow?

No, not exactly, but I have an issue with people born with XY chromosomes playing in female sports.

Sadly, the state of liberal cities isn't something made up but created by the politicians they elected to be in charge.

Oh, I didn't answer the question. But, more like the ridiculous accommodations people expect just to live. Complain about not having enough free-time, which once didn't even exist and the only reason it does now is because the people who worked their lives away so the future didn't have to.

I think it's a much bigger issue. Kids are taught that they are the most precious, important person in the world and that others are evil if they don't bow to them. They don't have expectations for themselves but expect everyone to contribute to their livelihood and even be responsible for their feelings and mental health.

My humble opinion. If someone offends you or hurts your feelings, that is more of your problem, not theirs. Btw, you in a general term not suggesting you feel this way.

these days I see them complain a lot about how tech is ruining our lives or how social media is a curse or how gen z is struggling

I don't think you're talking about any of these those

I know it's controversial, but tbh it shouldn't be.

I have compassion for those who have gender dysphoria and in a perfect world everyone could live how they see fit, but biology is a hard fact, and depending on those two chromosomes changes the strengths and weaknesses of the carrier's body.

There is no argument to be had if the principle of basic biology xy chromosomes give a great physical advantage can't be agreed upon.

Everyone should live their best lives regardless of what that is, but at some point when it starts to hurt others, we have to stand up against that.

That is a generalization tbh

Who do you think is better at basketball? A 7 foot tall woman or a man with dwarfism?
You are talking about exceptions, not rules in an unlikely scenario.

I could easily go take on dwarfs and those in wheelchairs and beat them, but I won't. Because I'm not an asshole.

BS

We are all, strong generation. There is no such things as weak humans.

When one bigots lives... another replace them.. FFS
Can't we have a simple nice place here ?

which once didn't even exist and the only reason it does now is because the people who worked their lives away so the future didn't have to.
No, its because leftist people fought politically to reduce work hours systematically.

Without them, we would still work like mules.

No, the problem is people thinking that we still live in a meritocracy and not understanding that we are raised with different type of capital that shape our chances in life and that can therefore create inequalities.

You realize just because you call someone a bigot that doesn't mean it's true.

No, the leftist didn't do crap to change things. There used to not be free time because if you had free time you would die. You couldn't just run to the store and buy food or even clothes. You had to do it all. The idea is a lot more modern than you think. Innovations from those people who worked hard created it. That is how far removed the generation is.

No we aren't all strong generations. When you cry and get offended over words, you aren't a strong generation. Words are just words, which go back to my complaint about part of my generation. We taught people the words others call them have meaning or merit behind them, which has taught people to let others control their happiness and mental health.

Also you call yourself a feminist, so tell me what should people with XX do? Should they quit competitions, since by historical facts when they are put against XY they cannot win in most situations? We should just end women's sports. Or do you believe women with XX should lose spots and opportunities to those born with XY?

This goes back to why I really dislike white saviors. Which they are also the reason, my children will mark black on every form they fill out so they can gain that advantage they didn't earn.

I disagree

Imagine believing free time did not exist and is therefore not natural 🤣:kaidowhat: @Zemmi please tell me what you've been smoking when you typed that.

Your understanding of history is limited to the past 200 years of US history.

Please visit some kind of group therapy, mental health facility or w/e and tell these mentally ill people that they are to blame for their own illness. I'm curious to see their reaction
