Admiral fans, your heart is in it.
Kizaru's heart isn't in it.
Whatever anyone wants to say about this arc, this is not a guy wanting to fight here.
I openly said I thought Luffy would lose to Kizaru in a 1v1 fight. I was wrong. We never got a 1v1 fight, but a bunch of running around, a brief respite, and then Kizaru getting murdered.
This is not an arc where Kizaru is a menacing or dominating force. You hate it, I get it. Luffy fans were right and you were wrong, and I was wrong about him having a good showing.
There is no point trying to defend this display. I was wrong, you were wrong. Kizaru jobbed. This is not the guy on Sabaody and Marineford who would do anything for the mission.
This is a series about Will, and how it changes the world, and Kizaru clearly is forcing himself to do something his Will hates and he would change if he could.
That's why Luffy's winning, because he's fighting for what he believes justice is, rather than what he has been told justice is by others.
It sucks because I honestly think motivated Kizaru vs Luffy is one of the most hype possible fights in this fucking series, and Oda teased it just to do this, but, fuck.
You have every right to be sad, this is not the guy from Sabaody and Marineford, this is a dude wishing he had retired.
This isn't about Luffy being stronger than Kizaru, this is about Kizaru losing faith in the Marines entirely.
Kizaru needs to change for himself, not get a win here.
