Serdar Somuncu.

he also ran for chancellor with the brilliant slogan "warum nicht mal ein türke?" (why not a turk for once?)

So I guess we're back to saying that humor should be reserved to a select group of people.
"Don't laugh with, but against oppressors" = "Only certain people can make humor" now ?

"attacking". maybe you are just a little bit too serious about fucking jokes lmfao.

and well who would have guessed, its right wing to you. *yawn*
No, humor can be as leftist as it gets. it can be completely progressive.

But yes, humor - unless you are talking about random slice of life subject like the the amount of shampoo you put on your hair - is a process of attacks, ranging from little kindhearthed remarks to straight up denonciations. Humor without this process doesn't really exist. There is also the kind of attacks that are directed toward the humorist themself)

the guy im talking about experienced oppression and still jokes about it
If that's the case, then the guy do not treat the oppressed and the oppressors the same way. In the case where said person is aware of oppressions and therefore the impact humor can have on those oppressions, said person will necessaraly create an inequality in term of treatment.

yeah he is just projecting even tho its entirely subjective
In that case, I'm not the one projecting...

Brad Williams obviously makes a ton of little person jokes
Which is something I didn't talk about being : those who are related to a specific oppression have a legitimity that others don't.

So yeah, this guy is legitimate to talk about the subject even tho it has to be done correctly. Tho being someone related to an oppression doesn't give you an green card to be a jerk against others who don't have your chance (because lets not forget that not everyone has the priviledge to fill up entire theatres.

Sit down, shut the fuck up.
Nop :myman:

obviously he doesnt treat them the same way, but he jokes about them the same way. and thats perfectly fine, because not everyone has a stick up his ass like you do

doing jokes like that can also raise awareness about hte oppression. its not necessarily an attack to make a joke, t
Yes I agree, that's a fine line tho and really depends on who does it and why

Do you think Monty Python are offensive? Did you watch Life of Brian? If not you should

Lol, this is not the first time that you ask me to watch it and as always I'm reporting it to later. But no, I've not. I only saw a few moments and no I didn't find those offensive, they seemed to laugh about institutionnalized subjects.

S was Asking because some trans supporters want the movie banned for supposedly being transphobic

We also need to replace medias into their context. I cannot judge the potential transphobia of a movie like "The life of Brian" or "Some like it hot" and the one depicted in "Ace Ventura" that comes much later..

Writers, now, have no excuses not to be aware of the oppression that are facing trans people so we need to make them much more accountable of what they write.
