Ok, but how does this change the fact what you view as woke
Technically, "woke" is just a word. SO ultimately I don't really care who and what people call woke. But the problem is that the right (liberals/confusionnist/conservatist/libertarian/far right and worse) are calling "woke" everything and its contrary.

The fact is that in the last decade, leftist with vision like mine (antifascist/progressive proLGBTQI+/feminist/antiliberal/anticapitalist/antiracist etc.) were called first "SJW" and the term then evolved to became the "woke". It started in the united states and became popular in Europe around 2018. So since then.. people like me were targeted on all front (medias/youtube/internet) by anti-"woke". So we reappropriated the word in order to reverse the stygmate just like black people use the "N" word.

Now, you will see a lot of leftist that call themself woke.

But the problem is that when people are denouncing "woke shit", they are not targetting leftist and all the things that I listed above. They are actually angry against the hijacking of those fights by liberals and people who only think about making money out of poor storytelling.

What people are actually angry about is precisely what is explained in this video. They are angry against the process of depolitization and bad usage of political message in fiction. But what those people don't realize is that those things are NOT DONE by leftist or the "woke" that they are usually targetting on twitter, its done by liberals with capitalistic vision, with liberals ideas and with a depoliticized vision of society.

(and they are also - by intellectual lazyness - wrongly assimilating bad storytelling to bad politic ideas)

That doesn't make every story push an agenda as its main purpose.
And yet, that's the case. There is absolutely NO story without a political agenda. It simply does not exist.

A story is by essence a vision of the way to act in society. This is a foundamental storytelling principle. No matter the story, the writer will ALWAYS take a side on the best way to act in society and that side will be shown by the action and the choices of the characters. A story will ALWAYS depict a conflict of value and a choice in front of those values. And that's what make stories political.

The problem with modern entertainment (and precisely Marvel movies) is that writers (but mainly producers) are using their skills to create stories that prevent us from questionning the status co. and therefore create a depolitization of the status of society. So, when you see a producer push forcibly the girl boss trope through a story that is going against that representation... you get stories that are bad quality.

Like changing the little mermaid.
Ok they changed the color of the little mermaid or changed the gosthbuster into women, but are the movie actually good ? If you say me "no", I understand that you focus on those aspects as a conservative. But if the movie was actually good, this wouldn't have been a problem.

See, there should be no problem in changing the color of a characters. Its just characters. As long as the color or gender are not dramatically important, there should be no problem with that. But we live in a racist and sexist society... so if the movies are bad and I bet that its a bunch of liberal garbage with very bad writing... people will blame the color and gender swap.

That's why in the left... we denounce pink washing and its derivative forms.

Yes, Woke are against what anti-woke are calling "woke shit"..

First, I want you to give me a political analysis of the first Twilight movie.

Second, would you be ok with a remake of Bad Boys, but instead of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, playing the iconic Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, we just change them to white boys? I don't think I would be a fan.

Yes, some people can make everything political, every media might have a nudge of the author's political thoughts, but that doesn't make them political movies.

Bad boys would not be Bad boys without Will and Martin.

Right. It's a favorite of mine which is why I used it as an example.

I have recently learned your statement here can't be correct because everything is and has to be political at all times.

Humans Evolve. Taxes Never Do.
Where did you get this info from, Van

Lots of politician actions can be tracked as they are public. You can even track their investments to see Insider trading, but it's only revealed 45 days after the fact. Votes included. Campaigns are funded and within time, can see where some of the funds are coming from(like Hillary Clinton being funded by the Military Industrial Complex in 2016 which explained her obsession with escalating war tension with Russia and Cyria).

Hardly any republican was voting for her, but a ton of democrats were.

Ooooh, I see. Did not see this anywhere apart from the LinkedIn owner, which in itself isn't a lot.

Cause she was most moderate of the bunch I guess, and the alternative is Sleepden? :robinsweat:
