You might want to go back and re-read that Frieza fight. Goku was sitting there smiling, and waiting for Frieza to powerup to 100 percent, because he was excited at the prospect of fighting the Strongest man in the Universe at full strength. This was after Krillin died. In fact, he was smiling and talking about avenging Krillin, but only after Frieza reaches max power. King Kai was chastising him, and telling him he'd gone insane the entire time. He literally put everyone in jeopardy who was on Namek, because he wanted to enjoy a full strength fight against Frieza.

Luffy is much better than any Dragon Ball character and you guys are a bunch of deniers. Goku literally abandoned his fights multiple times, if anything it's always Gohan who must clean up the mess. Luffy literally able to read people's character and getting real with the situation where else Goku simply relied on Author new power up or simply get annihilated to get the job done.
The let down of Luffy is that he's basically a brain damaged teen who get abused alot so he doesn't have anything in mind other than being a carbon copy of his idol where Goku simply like to train to overtake his new opponent.
Can Goku talk like Luffy to any of his new friends? Most of his friends are basically a reduced fighting boss. Also he didn't even defeat Frieza, Cell, nor even Zamasu.

Nostalgia glasses. I love Goku, but if we're gonna be critical of Luffy, Goku has the personality of a wet paper towel, and has zero meaningful interactions with anyone on his side. Luffy is more nuanced or atleast used to be. He was basically an improvement over the Goku model, can't say the same about the current iteration of Goofy, but Goku was never all that to begin with.
One thing Goku has over Luffy is character development for sure, Luffy has none. I can see an argument from that angle, but he regressed in Super anyway.

Goku wanted to teach Frieza a lesson at his peak which he did. Plus at the end of the day it's in his nature to be excited about fighting someone strong. But there's a difference between doing that and laughing like a retard besides Krillin's body.
Since the beginning Goku was shown to be someone who liked fighting strong people something that became a norm unlike Luffy who wasn't shown since the beginning like someone who'd laugh like a retard when his friends got hurt/potentially murdered

They're both pretty bad but Goku is so bad I wouldn't even call him a character, he's a retard with a spoon. Quite literally the only thing Goku has to offer is his power, and none of his powers are particularly interesting apart from perhaps his teleportation. His 'forms' are the laziest artwork I've ever seen, and I'm fairly sure toriyama admitted to this.
Are you calling Lucci fodder? And this is not a one off instance where Zoro and Luffy have faced the same opponent in the same arc and at the same power level.

There are not many characters who you can say can low diff Lucci. Before Zoro's fight vs Lucci I doubt anyone would say that anyone besides established top tiers can low diff Lucci. Only Yonkos and Admirals could be said to be able to low diff commander level characters like Lucci and Lucci is YC1-2 range character.
