So….the battle is actually over then?

Holy fuck, Qin got utterly curb stomped
i have a hard time seeing how even Shin and Mouten's Chu defeat is going to be worse than Hango

this wasn't even a pyrrhic victory for Zhao. Just a crushing victory. They only lost fucking Jiaga

And even Jiaga death could have been prevented if Jiaga and Kansaro had been bloodlustzd and involved since the beginning and not « playing » around at first

They barely lost anything in terms of numbers. I would be surprised if Zhao lost 50k.

But I still don’t think the battle is over just because Qin has lost nothing close to 200k, right? I mean they lost Ousen’s 120, but Yotanwa was pretty much fine numerically. We’ll have to see but Qin hasn’t lost anything close to the numbers we know they will lose.

it's possible that we might learn from the narrator that Qin lost a lot of other men to some of the Zhao forces waiting outside of Hango. But I don't think we'll see more of the battle

Yotanwa has 70k men. The Qin right wing has 60k. If Hara does truly intend to have Qin lose over 200k men, then that means there are at least 80k casualties that we either just haven’t heard about (the battle is over) or that haven’t happened yet (the battle will continue and Qin loses even more men).

If we assume that Yotanwa and the right wing suffered equal casualties (IE, both of them lost the same percentage of troops, 40k and 40k or whatever), then that would mean Yotanwa lost over 50% of her army despite being at no conceivable disadvantage other than the Kotsuminchad going ape shit on her forces. That would also mean the right wing lost over 50% of their total force in a scenario that looked more like a stalemate rather than them suffering huge casualties.

Which just doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t think Kotsuminhaku can slaughter 40k mountain lads in an afternoon when there was no indication that Yotanwa was being pressed that hard. The Qin right was also never shown as taking huge losses, they just had their hands full with the numerical disadvantage.

I’m holding onto hope, Hango is not finished. We’re either going into another night scenario like Gian or Shibashou is about to attack one of Ousen’s legendary mountain fortresses. Lol

Ouhon asks Sou’ou about Ousen‘s condition then questions why Sou’ou isn’t waiting by his side. Sou’ou retorts that if Ouhon is worried then he should go check on Ousen himself, but Ouhon says his concern would be unwelcome. They start talking about the battle and Ouhon says they underestimated Riboku. He doesn’t think Ousen got sloppy, but he thinks some openings may have shown themselves after the victory at Shukai Plains. Sou’ou says that may be so, that’s not why they lost. They lost because Riboku engaged them in pure, direct warfare. Ousen gets stronger as the battlefield gets more complicated and Riboku would have no hope of winning in that situation. That’s why Riboku locked down the Hi Shin Unit and the Gyoku Hou who are capable of complicating the battlefield. Sou’ou said he’s sure Ousen noticed that as well, so the next battle will be Ousen’s victory. Ouhon questions if there will even be a next time. Sou’ou asks what he means, but Ouhon just says that rebuilding their army won’t be simple. Ouhon tells Sou’ou he’s entrusting him with Ousen. Now that Akou, Makou, and Denrimi are dead, Sou’ou is the only one who can support Ousen as his right arm. However, Sou’ou refuses and says that Ouhon should be the one to support Ousen. Sou’ou apologizes and says there’s something he must do no matter what and this is as far as he goes.

At least one portion of the chapter is good lol

It can't be worse since Ousen just lost the biggest amount of Qin soldiers in any battle, and lost all his generals to boot lol. Doesn't get any worse than that.
