After reading the summary, I think York is wrong. Most readers assume the real den den mushi is with the Ancient Robot because it sounds like most logical choice with Robot being the guardian, and so is York.
But here is the twist, it is not with the Robot, it is actually with Kizaru.
Afterall as shitty as Oda does in writing fights, he is still pretty good with writing twist like minks' reaction knowing Momonosuke's identity.
To me, twist is something else.
VP made the broadcast at the time of Lulusia. Based on the content of the broadcast we know VP doesn't know who did it and who wants to kill him -
But him making the broadcast means he knew someone might try to kill him.
He is a man of Science so he will be curious to figure out who tries to kill him.
And, then when Elders shot him down, he asked sanji and luffy to let him die. But why?
For broadcast yes but broadcast doesn't have anything that portray WG as culprit.
This brings me back to what I said earlier - VP feared death but was unaware of who is trying to kill him or is behind Lulusia, so he will have some mechanism hidden to reveal to everyone who tries to kill him.
Here's my headcannon
That broadcasting snail is hidden in Ancient Robot. But it also has live streaming camera which will get activated the moment someone tries to destroy it.
VP hide the snail to bought time for the broadcast but at the same time he ensured that moment someone will try to stop it and get hands over the snail - he will get caught in 4K and whole world will see who killed him.
I feel this is why VP wanted Sanji to leave him because him dying can expose Elders in live action....
