Character Discussion Trying to understand why people like Kuma

#41
Kuma is an outstanding person.

He saved and freed so many people in God Valley and always helped those in need.

He is One Piece's purest character.

A pacifist

In a sea of stupid ass WorstGen threads, this one stands out. We really need to start iq testing new users @TheAncientCenturion

His mountain of patience, tolerance and constant bending down to WG/CD since he was a kid until the very end really piss me off.
The fuck do you mean first of all. He is a literal founding member of the Revolutionary Army who spent years actively fighting against the World Government. Kuma has liberated more islands than Big Job, Crydo, or Fisher Tiger ever did. Let alone fucking Hancock who was a Shichibukai for years. The fact that you cited Boa “I’ll go to war with Whitebeard before I risk my Shichibukai position” Hancock as a model World Government opposer is pathetic lol.

As for Kaido and Big Mom, they talked a big game but never opposed the World Government in any major way. Their existence helped to maintain the power balance which benefited the Government’s agenda.

With Fisher Tiger, he attacked the Holy Land once so I’ll give you that. Still not even remotely close to all the trouble Kuma caused for the World Government.

He has a slave mentality
He was practically born a slave and was raised that way during the foundational years of his life. That said, he still joined the Revolutionary Army and spent years of his life freeing oppressed Kingdoms from tyrannical rule.

Anyway, Kuma does not have a slave mentality, and this is where those aforementioned IQ tests would come in handy. All of Kuma’s pro-Government actions in his life are a direct result of them holding his own daughter hostage.

What would your monkey-brained ass suggest he do? Ignore Saturn’s terms? Great, then they would let his daughter die. Or maybe even outright kill her. Is this what you would consider a “good character”? An adoptive father who lets his own daughter die just so Oda can write another “MUH FREEDOM” mouth foaming retard?

They didn't go back to WG and would rather risk war than negotiate with them.
The hilarity of mentioning Hancock in this group. I just can’t fucking understand these people lmfao.

The Tyrant was real? Is that why he guarded the Straw Hats ship lmao?
:seriously: That is after wiping his memory.
The actions in Thriller Bark were that of a tyrant.
The most menacing character in pre-TS for sure.
I simply liked the character for things he wasn't.
At least all those things were wiped out in the FB.

No he asked for Vegapunk to program him into guarding their ship.

Oh man he spared the crews lives going against orders, such a tyrant.

The most menacing character in pre-TS for sure.
Being menacing doesnt mean you're a tyrant.

You liked a character that had barely any character and wasnt developped, gee this does ring a bell lmao. I guess you have a type lmao.

No what? lol His memory is wiped when he protects the ship. We had no explanation for it.

Re-read Thriller Bark...

Being menacing doesnt mean you're a tyrant.
Is he menacing now? :milaugh:

It was explained in the flashback.

Dont need to, he hurt none of the crew. Spared them when he couldve said no.

Is he menacing now? :milaugh:
Never said he was, I was just saying that being menacing doesnt mean you're a tyrant.

You can wear Zoro pfp and sig but you are still a casual Luffy fan who goes over things in a very shallow matter...
Go back to TB and watch Kuma's actions and then ask yourself does that guy match the guy we saw in the FB.

lol we've known he was on Luffy's side since TB.

Willing to kill Zoro is nothing about him being on Luffy's side.

we knew he was friends with luffy's dad and he was complementing Luffy's crewmates. I weekly read TB and knew he was one of the "good guys" lol, pretty sure everybody knew.

I dont care about Luffy though, are you that binary bro? Is your world that black and white. Is it either Zoro or Luffy fans? Enough with the tribalism lmao.

dont talk about ''b-but how can people hate a fictional character so much'' when you got triggered over someone else disliking a character lmao.
Anyone can dislike a character for any reason, i dont like kizaru for being a nika twerker anymore either.
so fuck you for thinking you can dictate why others should like or dislike a character
That guy you argue shows zero signs of being triggered , you on the other hand , . . .

Many people probably relate to his story, I mean, I'm not saying that all of them suffered the same fate as Kuma, but some keypoints of his backstory point to some situations that happens in the real world, most notably, his unconditional love for Bonney... Many families nowadays have kids being raised by a step-parent or a spouse of someone with a child (for whatever reason it is)...

I liked him better before the backstory. I strongly dislike this over the top sob shit.
Boo hoo rape. Boo hoo child abuse. Boo hoo CD murdered someone. YAWN.

It would be refreshing to have a character that does the right thing simply because they believe it is the right thing to do and not because some lifechanging event put them on the path for it.
A character with an intact moral compass please.

Kuma is great, that‘s why. He sacrificed everything for the ones he loved. He‘s like Kyros in that regard. And I hope he will pull through somehow and maybe stay in the story for a little longer.
I don't like Kyros at all. Some of Oda's worst characters.
You liked a character that had barely any character and wasnt developped, gee this does ring a bell lmao. I guess you have a type lmao.
Cooked him in one sentence :hihihi:
