Character Discussion Tashigi is a wasted character

When I first saw her in Logue Town I was like cool, a female swordsman. She seemed to know her shit about swords too. So I expected her to become a strong marine swordsoman as the series went on but she just didnt. And I find it disappointing tbh, Oda really did her dirty. He perpetuated Kuina's claim that women cant become strong swordsmen. Whats even worse is that he made her into a Kuina clone lmao.

Also, everything she stated in this panel she has failed at first of all.​

After witnessing the power of Yonko/Nika/Pirate King and etc it was pretty easy to let go of that idea of her becomming a stronger fighter.

Guess that's fine as more and more characters will line up in the second or third row by the end of the story. It is what it is bwois. Lol.

What do you expect?
To do that, she needs to take the sword from the hands of the likes of Whitebeard, Mihawk, Shanks, Shiryu, and maybe Nusjuro
Even if she was backed by entire Marine it would still very hard to do that

Sounds like a too big of a dream said by a little child, and as the child grows she begins to accept that her dream is impossible

Ignoring powerlevel that dream is absurd anyway
By the time she said that, Mihawk was still Navy's ally as Shichibukai
She thought the Navy would let her try to fight the Shichibukai with consequence of breaking alliance? If Shodai belongs to Gorosei, what is she gonna do?

And she never will, the characters that have the great and supreme swords are all above her in relevance and power. Oda just writing random bullshit.

I love tashigi and all.. I had high expectations for her considering she was the exact copy as kuina(zoro's best friend) but all that expectation in the mud now..but she a good character too, kind, cares about her subordinates, and also trying in anyway to improve her swordsmanship

It will either happen in some surprising odaish way or it will be a dream that will be discarded once the world got flipped upside down.

I think her goal doesnt imply her to fight the sword wielders and take it off from each individual.

Probaly the Navy will collect Shanks and Whitebeard's blades once they fell and once Zoro is done epiloguewise he could also pass on his swords.

A goal getting discarded is also something natural and nothing to be ashamed of if the right compensationis to be found.

Idk how much I trust Oda to wind this up to most reader's satisfaction, but I think it is possible.

I think the most looking forward thing is an ark situation that might occur tbf. If Tashigi ends up on an ark and most meito will end up being there too...that would roughly be 9/10 mission complete lol.

She lived upto improving her skills - it's just not at the level of high tiers and top tiers.


She perhaps even tried to collect swords but then we all know it means to go after likes of Zoro, Mohawk which is more than she can chew.

So, she didn't fail. She is just not the topper of the class...i.e swordmanship
