She can only acquire powers she can think up, not aptitude. This same limitation likely also means Bonney can't mimic Haki-based powers. Haki is a skill that requires years of practice and can only reach its best form in battle. Whatever Haki techniques she brings into battle must be those she's honed for herself.

The plot twist that everyone would have accepted is all of them escaping while the robot holds off the five Gorosei. But Oda invented all this drama to insert Bonney having Gear 5. It couldn't be worse. I don't believe anyone on this forum could come up with such a trash plot twist. It looks like Oda is spending all his days reading One Piece theories and then finding ways to create scenarios no one has thought of, which is making the story so trash.
