Character Discussion Zoro is the most iconic swordsma in all of fiction.

Who do you think you are to insult other people tastes
Like how out of reality you are
He is not wrong on the fact that Zoro has been butchered as a character.
He has no motivation other than strength, no dilemma, no troubles, no nothing.
He just says cool badass one liners, teleports behind you *nothing personel kid.

Think Guts, Musashi, even Ichigo has more moral complexity than Zoro.

That's all wrong you guys keep proving that you don't understand the character
Ok, you claim it to be wrong..
When was the last time Zoro had some inner struggles? Some moral challenging situation?
Something that he didn't solve by just cut stronger?
Zoro has been for the last 10 years nothing else than coldsteel the edgehog.

Did you miss wano or what
Even in egghead with the liablility dilema

Yeah, I apparently missed Wano, because I cannot remember any moral struggle that Zoro has.
Can you make a real example or are you just gonna keep it generic?
His fight against King
When he sacrifice himself in the roof
When kiku lose his arm
When he get mad with the Beast pirates for throwing food
The same with Orochi for killing yasuie and smiles understanding hiyori's pain
.........

Ok you must be trolling me.
Do you even know what a moral dilemma is?
None of these events in ANY way troubled Zoro, nor posed a threat to his value as a person. All of the above mentioned issues were also ALL solved by just cutting stronger.
Zoro never doubts, actually this is spread across every character in the SHs mostly. SHs are always correct and always right, and enemies are ALWAYS wrong.
Zoro is one of the most simple because he's just a fighter, while for Usopp Oda did Enies Lobby arc.
Zoro had 0 arcs in 20 years. He's the same character that he was 20 years ago.

Do you want a moral dilemma? Read Vagabond, where Musashi has to realise that he's just a beast and starts a pattern for betterment.

I know what i'm saying and your opinion is not going to change what I think of him
You just see him as fight fight cut cut while i'm telling you and manga proves you he is not like that but again he is a complex character to understand you just prove how simple mind you are when you talk about him

I'll take your concession.
Specially when your "complexity" claim is directly debunked by the local Zoro worshipper and expert.
>To never doubt, that is Power.
Congratz Gai-chin, you found another reason why Zori is Power.
:zosmug:
Why bother proving you wrong when Zoro fans are the first to be proud about their characters being a hollow shell?

:gokulaugh:

ichigo Kurosaki isn’t as iconic as Zoro?
I think Ichigo is more iconic than Zoro.
Ichigo is a fucking loser

If there is anything iconic about Ichigo, it is for him being either a loser with blank, confused face that can't follow what's going on anymore

Or getting trolled so bad by the author

Imagine Luffy just gets his latest, EoS power up (let's say Gear 6) only to get lol diffed and embarassed by Imu's hax on G6's first debut.
Or Zoro finally makes his Wado a black blade only for Imu or Mihawk casually breaks the black Wado the next chapter.

Oda respects Zoro far more than Kubo respects Ichigo.

Get that loser's name out of this thread

@Topi Jerami

It's about being an iconic swordsman, not your - invalid - opinion about who's a bigger loser lol. What you believe Ichigo to be is completely irrelevant to how the majority of the anime community views him. Not to mention that Ichigo has Quincy, Shinigami and Hollow power... He's very special in Bleach.

One Piece, Naruto and Bleach are the big 3 shonen and Ichigo is the face of this manga. It's no more obvious than that.

Either Ichigo has a comparable stance like Zoro to the public or both are equally trash at being iconic.

What's about "Lmfao Trunks"?

Nobody really cares much about Ichigo in Bleach fandom. They care more about either Kenpachi, Byakuya, Aizen, Urahara or Grimmjhow. He is not even the face of Bleach.

The fact that he has Quincy, Shinigami, and Hollow power doesn't make him special if anything people dislike him more because they feel everything is just handed to Ichigo.

For comparison, if you have to pick one iconic scene about Ichigo, most people will pick the scene where Juha Bach casually trolled the shit out of Ichigo.

While for Zoro, most people will pick the Nothing Happened scene.

See? Ichigo is iconic for being a moron who got trolled by Juha Bach or the author. Zoro is iconic for protecting his captain.

Comparing character development:
It has been a while since I read Bleach, but I don't really remember character development for Ichigo. Aside from being stronger, there is not much difference among beginning of series Ichigo and EoS Ichigo's personality.
He was already kind, caring to his sisters and friends since the beginning. He was already stupid and easily made fun of by the likes of Yoruichi since the beginning. Nothing really changes EoS, still the same kind, caring, protective and same moron.

Post TS Zoro doesn't really develop much anymore. But beginning of series Zoro is different than before timeskip Zoro, from prioritizing his goal than Luffy's to bowing to Mihawk for Luffy's sake.

Trunks isn't really a swordsman, nor iconic. You can compare Zoro to Vegeta or Piccolo, but Trunks? Lol

Iirc people don't really give a shit about Ichigo @Sentinel
He was just trapped in fandom wars among IchiRuki and IchiHime.

Who is even this boy?

Honestly I never see this guy before until I came here and see certain nerd kept using this boy as his avatar.

Bro what are you talking about? Ichigo is one of the most popular characters in shonen jump. Sure, Kenpachi, Byakuya, Aizen, Grimmjow, Ulquiorra, Yhwach and Co are also very popular but Ichigo is the shonen face of his manga, for a good reason.

You're pretending like getting his sword cut by a broken godlike character is apparently an L but it does not change the fact that Ichigo also created lots of hype moments for the Bleach community as well. I'm not that invested in the Bleach community like you do but that's even more proof how the average anime fan views Ichigo.

Again, it's about being an iconic swordsman and not who's a better winning swordsman. Do I need to post the definition?

iconic
adjective

uk

/aɪˈkɒn.ɪk/ us

/aɪˈkɑː.nɪk/

Add to word list

very famous or popular, especially being considered to represent particular opinions or a particular time:
iconic status John Lennon gained iconic status following his death.
iconic image The gunfight is the single most iconic image of the Wild West.
The film Casablanca won three Academy Awards, and its characters, dialogue, and music have become iconic.

language specialized
showing a relationship between the form of a sign, such as a word or a symbol, and its meaning:
Iconic gestures mimic the forms of the things they stand for, such as outlining shapes, or moving your hands multiple times to show repetition.
An iconic sign is one whose form resembles its meaning in some way, as opposed to an arbitrary sign.
You're being unreasonable.

While for Zoro, most people will pick the Nothing Happened scene.
But Zoro is not the MC of a pirate manga, Ichigo is the face of his manga just like Naruto or Goku is. It's not just a popular manga, it's a popular manga about swordsman.

People will rather remember about Ichigo than Zoro. Heck, I'd say Mihawk probably has a better game at it.

Also, if you believe Aizen is more iconic than Ichigo, Zoro even has a harder way to be more iconic than Aizen. Bro is one of the most popular antagonists in the entire anime/manga community. Aizen being an iconic swordsman is without a question.

See? Ichigo is iconic for being a moron who got trolled by Juha Bach or the author. Zoro is iconic for protecting his captain.
Irrelevant.
Authors don't judge how the majority of people think about their created character.

How is character development relevant again?

At that part, Guts beats both of them neg diff lol.

Post TS Zoro doesn't really develop much anymore. But beginning of series Zoro is different than before timeskip Zoro, from prioritizing his goal than Luffy's to bowing to Mihawk for Luffy's sake.
So why even bring up character development here?

Trunks isn't really a swordsman, nor iconic. You can compare Zoro to Vegeta or Piccolo, but Trunks? Lol
Trunks is literally the first introduced Super Saiyan along with Goku who turned the previous antagonist of the Namek Saga, the universe emperor who genocided the entire Saiyan race, into a kebab and he wielded a sword.

DB characters are more famous than OP characters and they have a better shot at being more iconic than the most popular OP characters. I know several people knowing about some DB characters - they are not anime/manga fans whatsoever - try ask them the same thing about OP instead.

How can I compare Zoro to Vegeta or Piccolo? They are not swordsmen.

Iirc people don't really give a shit about Ichigo @Sentinel
He was just trapped in fandom wars among IchiRuki and IchiHime.
Sorry bro but I disagree.
Maybe Ichigo gets trashed in agenda based discussions but the average fan hardly thinks of him as the loser whose sword got cut by Yhwach lol.

He's especially popular for these two modes:

Topi-senpai, please tell me you're just trolling... There's no way you don't recognize these characters. :josad: What's next, you don't know who Yoda or Darth Vader is?
