When Momo is released (seems like Law will do it), the war will officially start, so there's no more "exhibition" moments for Orochi.
I think he's done for. Kanjuro is clearly gone imo after Kiku's "afterlife" speech, and it'd make sense if the Kurozomi clain is extinguished.

As much as I want him to kick it in general, and especially after a panel like that, Oda will find a way to pull him back from oblivion. How it happens remains to be seen; falling back on the DF is the obvious choice, but he wasn’t even in hybrid form this chapter, so I don’t know how one could justify using that as an excuse for him surviving. Unless he’s like a Logia and his powers are always passively active without being visible, it just doesn’t work with that logic, but stranger things have certainly happened in this series.
Orochi isn't dead thanks to his devil fruit, and neither is his distant cousin Kanjuro.
Orochi's mythical devil fruit most certainely gives him more special powers than just having eight heads when he turns into his namesake serpentine form, the Yamata no Orochi recquires an absurd amount of efforts and punishement to be killed for real like its western cousin the Hydra of Lern so I do not think that cutting one head is enough to kill Orochi.
I also think that Kiku only injured Kanjuro or that he sliced a clone of him with red ink inside similar to the jam that serves as "Cracker's blood".
The Kurozomis aren't getting disposed of that easely and quickly right at the beggining of the Fire Festival and before Orochi got the chance to be confronted by the Scabbards, especially Denjiro that he trusted so much as "Kyoshiro", and even more before being confronted by Hiyori that he wanted to make his woman without knowing who she was.

-it make sense bc as Kaido said Wano is a natural fortress, before the WG had their super weapon he was safe that the Navy wouldn't cause him trouble but now the things in the world changed and the WG might seriously think of taking down the Yonkos, now ofc Kaido needs something more to face the WG if he have to,and since BM is here he doesn't really need Orochi anymore in fact he doesn't even need Wano's Samurai at this point bc he and BM are the ultimate force only someone who wants do die would face those two at the same time.....also a big dick war is about to start and without him we can focus more on more important characters also the samurai might Join the alliance and fight Kaido and BM which they really should since ATM they can't be stopped by the alliance alone

The fact it would be a bigger twist for a character to die from decapitation than survive it makes me laugh.
If Orochi genuinely stays dead this is in the top three shocks Oda has ever pulled off. A One Piece villain brutally murdering his ally in the present day, on-panel, completely out of nowhere? Nah, Oda, you don't do stuff like that.
