Same to a lesser degree with Smoothie, she has such an amazing design, and so much potential with her swordsmanship, her cool and original devil fruit, her surely having powerful haki and her possibly being a longleg martial artist too. And look at what Oda has done of her.

It does matter, what was implied was that Law kept hurting her through hax and internal damage, not with normal slashes.
The animation does look beautiful in that gif, though, certainly better than how they animated Zoro vs King and Luffy vs Kaido, and admittedly better than the fight against Big Mom in the manga, but changing details that affect the perception of their powers and power levels matters even if what they provide looks spectacular for a change.

There are so much and many things Big Mom could have done if allowed to use her full potential, with her devil fruit, the Soru Soru no mi, her haki, her physical strength, as well as of her Elbaf techniques.
I could see her making more and conscious use of her super scream much like Black Bolt and the Howler from Marvel comics, but also have her own version of Gugnir evidently infinitively far more powerful than Hajrudin's version, a horizontal punch where she combines her physical strength and Coa and Coc to create an ultra-powerful punch and shockwave far stronger than King Punch, her using Prometheus to have her own version of Hiken, she could use Prometheus and Zeus in combo to create tornados and winds so powerful that they could send entire armies flying, I could even see her creating toxic gazes homies, lightning ball homies, a new Special Homie named Gaia that is an earth homie that can control the ground like Pica with stone and another Special Homie named Eole or Aeolus that is a gigantic living tornado.
A thunderclap with her clapping her hands so strongly, adding Haki to power and enhance the shockwave with haki, or her hitting the ground with both her strength and haki to create an earthquake are also possibilities.
And I could also see her making use of her Incarnations in battle, with them going through her foes much like Perona's ghosts and taking their souls in her stead, with her perhaps even using Coc just before to make her enemies ripe for the soul harvest. She could also project her own soul much like Brook does, for reconnaissance and spying.
