Such a shame that Oda feels personally attacked when people criticize his work or writing decision, for specific plots, and that ending up making his editors keeping quiet.

Wasn't it one of his Editors back in the day that suggested to Oda to let Akainu live on, and not die in marine ford? That's just one of many examples where Editorial advice was so good, because now we have one more awesome "Villain" for the final Saga. (With potentially redeeming qualities, but that's another discussion).

Kind of fitting that the last obstacle they need to get rid of before they can escape is Saturn.

Oh, You are right, my bad. I guess i had this one stack in my head from many years ago and never fact checked it. Then again there are some other great examples which were proven correct.

- creation of the supernovas
- doflamingo getting his own arc as a mayor villain (was planned to appear in Wano by Oda)
- Vivi ending up more important than just a fodder character
- Ace was supposed to die in Alabasta and not being the Son of the Pirate King.

They’re all there but Saturn is connected to Kuma and Bonney more than anyone else as such Oda showcased those two

I can maybe see this happening, Kizaru comes in and distracts the Gorosei to allow the Straw Hats and everyone else to escape.

Kizaru ends up getting killed.

The Gorosei pin both the main Vegapunk and Kizaru's death on the Straw Hats and puts it out in the public.

Akainu learns about Kizaru's death, actually believes that the Straw Hats are responsible, gets super angry and finally heads out to sea.

Kizaru's death will be the breaking point for Akainu.
