Recent Egghead chapter kinda feels like the second half of WCI arc. Difference was first half of WCI was good while Egghead was meh from the beginning.
Escape arc = escape arc
Pedro's sacrifice so Sunny can set sail = Atlas' sacrifice so Sunny can set sail
Too strong enemies (in Oda's mind) = too strong enemies (in Oda's mind)
I remember readers were very shocked about how Oda treated Big Mom in WCI's ending, but then at least WCI Big Meme had an excuse. She was a meme because she wasn't in her right mind, she was nerfed mentally (although Wano proved this wrong, she was meme too in Wano or actually Oda is the meme).
Now in Egghead, the whole Gorosei came. But then, when Saturn came alone, and when all 5 of them now are in Egghead, the threat level feels just the same.
The Gorosei (and Kizaru) keep getting treated as harmless punching bags.
This is what happened to same Giants that neg diffed Ju Peter (would kill him if there is no regen bs) against old villain that is supposed to be clumsy and weak
And Oda doesn't help with Atlas' sacrifice. The tone is supposed to be that serious Atlas is forced to sacrifice herself so that Straw Hats can escape. But what does Oda do in just few later panels?
"Robot~~~!!!!!!"
Yeah in same chapter dedicated for Atlas' sacrifice, Oda shamelessly still drawing idiots being so excited with the robot. I know Luffy, giants, Sanji and Franky are supposed to be in different location with Atlas, but way to ruin the mood. And I thought CoO could detect things too?
Still talking about Atlas, I thought Nusjuro could move so fast he could take Pacifistas down across the island in mere minutes? What is the purpose of Atlas sacrificing herself to stall Nusjuro, because logically Nusjuro could move so fast to chase Sunny again?
Just for comparison, this is what Oda did with his old real villain
Old villain without shiny title: Yonko / Gorosei / ruler for hundred years blabla; actually 1 vs 2ing the strongest Straw Hat duo.
While Nika now can 1 vs 3ing the jobber grandpas.
@JoNdule @Lee Ba Shou @SakazOuki @Buusatan94 @nik87 @L57 @Shiroyru @ZenZu @Sentinel @Tyki_Mikk @Fujishiro @Akai2 etc.
