All signs point at Saturn being dead. Garling and holy knights won't tolerate damage to their own, they think too highly of themselves.

The Gorosei were said to be the highest authority of the world, effectively beneath only Imu. And the holy knights aren't an unknown force. And Dragon said that as a response to Sabo declaring war against the Celestial Dragons, they will mobilize the holy knights, which is where the fight will begin. Why would the holy knights and Garling not be Celestial Dragons? They reside in Marijoa and Garling appears to be from a royal family too.

He's in the One Piece chasing 12! He's Shank's dad. He has a good portrayal of his skills. Oda hyped him up a lot. There's no reason to think he's weak.
