Tbh you lost when you put all your eggs in one basket, the way this manga moves, if you look forward to a certain character, you might as well tune in every 5 years to get even a few crumbs, that's why when you read one piece you're just reading it for the experience, and if you're not doing that, you're gonna have a bad time.
Unless you thrive up weekly debates, but even that will get tiresome eventually, the debating becomes more dopamine intensive than actually reading the manga, and at that point you're screwed, because you don't even give a shit about the actual content of the chapter unless it's something to do with power scaling, that fits your agenda, or can be spun into a certain viewpoint.
I'm uninterested in probably 90%, which is why every chapter is a drag, it takes months for oda to set a plot point into action, before dragging onto the next one, and I used to care about usopps redemption in elbaf for example, but I'm uninterested now. Unless he dies like he said he was going to.
