People are too demanding to desire a character like Gaban. I don't even understand where the idea comes from. Baseless assumption. But last time silhouette-piece like that happened, it was Aokiji on Punk Hazard and people had guessed correctly according to how the character spoke. Shanks is the most obvious candidate this time, but this is dumb as hell to flee from Wano only to wait for him an arc later for apparently no reason whatsoever, what even changed since then ?
Honestly Id rather assume Scopper, it makes far less sense to me Shiki being friendly with Crocus when Oda made him a conniving asshole even in Strong World.
Makes far more sense to me that a former Roger Pirate would allow Crocus to celebrate.

We’ve seen the Roger Pirates interact, and we’ve seen Roger’s goodbye to them. Shanks got special treatment with his mysterious crying after Laugh Tale, Ray got special treatment by being the one Roger personally spoke to before leaving. We also saw throughout that Ray is the one Roger is closest to, the only one who doesn’t call him captain, his right hand man etc.
While Roger and Gaban barely spoke to each other and Gaban really got nothing other than a quick mention that he’s strong.
Oda gave nothing to make us think that Gaban is somehow taken it upon himself to be some last guardian of Laugh Tale and the Poneglyphs. Why would he be doing that when Ray, who was far closer to Roger and knew him better, didn’t feel the need?
Elbaf doesn’t need another Roger Pirate, it‘s already got Shanks linked with it, Saul, all the Ohara research and the long-lived giants with their knowledge of Nika.

Why fandoms think it has to be Gabban?? Or act like Gabban is going to be important/major player in future......
We have Rayleigh that fills all the role Gabban could have, and much more important figure than him. And at best even Rayleigh is just side support character.
If Shiki is irrelevant and so is Gabban, what exactly convey Gabban to be more relevant over Shiki, to be fair Shiki is even more relevant than him as per the portrayal and involvement.
And I don't think it's Shiki either. But at least has higher chance than no.3 of Roger pirates
