He himself shows concern and emotion towards people like that in his own way.

Luffy isnt laughing at VPs death in normal form, G5 Luffy I shit on because its not Luffy at all and I pointed out how retarded it was that he was laughing and floating above VPs dying corpse lol.

The comparison is between two old men dying and how Zoro reacted to Yasuie and took it personally and vowed to avenge him so I find it weird that hes saying Luffy shouldnt take it hard when VP died lol.

Anyways Im not even shitting on Zoro, its just a small thing I noticed is all.

Second situation - before zoro got PUs - not emperor level

Already addressed this, there is no issue for someone getting emotional over a death.

Zoro too got emotional in his own way over Yasuies death, and when he thought Kiku was too.

Also being emperor level means nothing lol. WB cried and got mad, Shanks got mad and agitated, BM cried and got mad,etc.

Youre focusing too much on the laughter when what Im pointing out is Zoro getting emotional and upset over Yasuie dying ( A man just died) in his own way but yet berrating Luffy for doing the same in his own way.

I think it's just Zoro being Zoro. It's not fitting for a newly minted Yonko to be showing weakness. In front of his crew is one thing but they're also in front of allies (giants/Vegapunk/Bonney). He doesn't want to hurt their reputation as a crew.

Interesting take about upholding the reputation but Imo there is nothing wrong with showing emotion like I said. All Emperors do, and Admirals with Kizaru this very chapter lol.

I don't particularly like how Zoro is callous about it either, but I can understand where it comes from. Like I said, this is his first showing as a Yonko. Should be expecting a lot more shit to come their way.

You have a point but context and the extent of certain things matter. First he’s not saying that Luffy shouldn’t care. It’s more of a he shouldn’t be affected this bad when it’s to be expected. Kinda like how Luffy told Vivi it’s naive to expect everyone to live after fighting a warlord.

Luffy felt like a failure even though VP’s death was expected in the circumstances they were in (Franky and Jinbe were literally listening the enemies to zoro before he said that). It’s more like Luffy is upset at himself and Zoro believes that Luffy shouldn’t be affected that bad over an old man’s death, especially now since he’s an emperor. Not to mention the tone was completely different than the tone during Yasu’s death (here Luffy is comically depressed while ghe tone in Wano was right after Yasu’s death and was serious especially after learning about the smile fruit).

On the other hand, Zoro was upset at Orochi instead of being “sad” about Yasu or upset at himself. When he was angry he was reacting to people laughing at someone's death. He vouched to avenge him by fighting the enemy that the alliance were all planning to fight anyway.
But overall he wouldn’t cry or feel like a failure over Yasu’s death.

Most importantly, unlike Wano where the objective was to defeat these bad guys, Egghead objective was that they escape and save VP. Since they failed saving the Stella, ie their objective, they have no other option but to escape.

While in Wano, Yasu’s safety wasn’t their objective and Zoro wasn’t reacting to a failure in saving him.
If they failed their objective in Wano by not defeating Kaido/Orochi, I am sure Zoro won’t cry about it and won’t like it if he saw his captain all crying and depressed about it too.

I bet if an angry Luffy declared that he would fight the elders and the marines over there to avenge VP, Zoro would be on board.
