Only Topman is at best equal to Akainu
The rest are admiral level or >= Admirals

Spoilers sound a bit surreal, but well. If that's the case, it wasn't far fetched, as some people already suggested it.

Though I am not quite sure why Saturn was sacrificed for failing, after all, all the elders participated, though certainly Saturn was in charge. But as people pointed out, the elders are easily expendable if Imu can just dispose of an elder who was around for many decades.

Won’t really call it easily expendable when the only character who replaced Saturn was the leader of holy knights
imu knew he had a backup while killing Saturn


now if there are other holy knights or celestial dragons as strong as Garling then u might be right

I think IMU PTSD from Joyboy haki is the cause of Saturn demise

I dont think the speech was what cause Saturn death. Imu being on the floor and triggered by Joyboy haki likely enraged him and he killed Saturn

I think Imu decided to kill him way before that because of the broadcast.
That's why the Elders were teleported back but not Saturn.
He failed and got fired (literally)

The power thing and link to Imu was predictable, lowkey if Garling represents the requirement for the position, that's hype for the Gorosei.

But then again, Saturn was ass cheeks as a fighter.

The requirement is just to be a CD & strong. And Garling being made into one now, doesnt mean he is the bare minimum required. More like he's the only one around right now who fulfilled it.

If the story was a bit different who knows... even Doffy couldve ended up as a Gorosei
