King is a masked swordsman.
I told people that King was a swordsman, he just doesn't go by the name because he doesn't believe you need a name or style to fight. He thinks that will limit what he could do. It's just his swordsman philosophy.

Kaku is almost identical to King. He does a lot of kicking and his entrie body is a deadly weapon. Yet, he is a 4 sword style user swordsman who only carries 2 swords.
King never stated he wasn't a swordsman. He just doesn't believe he needs a style or have go by titles to fight because he believes that limits how he can fight. That is just his way if thinking.
Zoro's response to King about biting his throat off was him agreeing you don't need a style to fight but that doesn't mean just because you perform an attack that not associated with that style doesn't remove you from being part of that style.
It's just more of Oda sword/swordsman philosophy.
Swordsman can use technique and attacks not associated swordsmanship and still be a swordsman.
