The reality about communism that no one thinks about is no one knows how to reach true communism. Karl Marx envisioned a society that was stateless, moneyless, and most importantly, classless. That was original communism. How do get to that point? How exactly would a society like that function and be sustained? No one knows because Karl Marx died before finishing his work.

We what we've have seen throughout the years we're alterations of communism like Lennism, Anarchism etc., and many dictatorships under a communist state took hold because of unstable political transitions.

So when we say "Communism has never worked", it's simultaneously true and false since we've never had true communism in the first place. However, attempts to bring about true communism and all these calls for revolution only means lots of death and the very high risk of a dictator emerging, as seen time and time again.

One more thing:Communism goes against human nature. People are egotistical. Even Tribes (modern or not) have an hierarchical structure to them. Equality is simply against human nature. Any ideology that tries to achieve impossible goals is doomed to failure. Marx didn't figured out that answer, because such answer doesn't exist. Communism isn't possible. People constantly measure each other and strive to achieve higher status in relation to their peers. Competence hierarchies are just part of human nature and society. People aren't equals and never will be. Communism is an Utopia and childish fantasy. Imo, it was engineered since its conception as POLITICAL FRAUD. It always breeds authoritarianism and dictatorships, because that is exactly what they aimed for. Marx's manifesto was just propaganda to get bleeding hearts to volunteer to being enslaved. The less education is available the easier it is for bad actors to exploit democracy's weak points and make the citizens vote against their own interests and ultimately undermine democracy itself and ultimately get rid of it altogether.
Due to lack of education the citizens wont even UNDERSTAND WHY their lives are bad and what has to be done to make it easier for them. This leads to increasing levels of frustration and a frustrated, stressed and angry mind won't have the capacity and mental/emotional resources to take a step back and realize that they need to inform themselves and learn. Communist states failed, because if private property is to be abolished, you need to create a class that has the power of controlling both private property and the army, which is basically a dictatorship. You give all military/economical might to a few people ruling and an authoritarian regime is what you get. Marx was calling out for a dictatorship in a very subtle way and the dumb masses fell for it.

I think an enlightened dictatorship is probably the best, the only problem being that even a good sovereign can't live forever. Dictatorships get things done faster, but they are overly reliant on the morals of the ruling class to work. People are easily corrupted. De-centralized power is the best. Problem is most people are stupid and immoral. There is no making heaven on earth, but hell on earth is possible: It's called communism.

De-centralized power is also very fragile, as it's not hard for lobbies and economic powers to take control of the whole political landscape. A hybrid form of democracy would probably be better, but for obvious reasons I can't elaborate further.
