He hasnt done any justice whatsoever. Mihawk should have been fleshed out in battle pre timeskip. We havent seen any swordman techniques aside from flying slashes from mihawk. He hasnt defeated any top tier, People like to think He's near shanks in strength but theres a clear Gap in how the author portrays Shanks in comparison to Mihawk. Oda has legit only put Yonkos and Admirals in front of Shanks, Infact their Arguably the strongest Yonko and Admiral in retrospect. Oda Puts the following characters in front of Mihawk.
People who arent even 1st Commander individuals.And they all stop Mihawk from doing what he wants to do on top of that.

Mihawk uses the traditional way of fighting with a sword. The Wano way. Shanks doesn't care about that stuff. Why would he? He concentrates more on Haki after all.

It's obvious actually. Shanks just doesn't focus on swordsmanship. He just uses a sword. That doesn't mean he goes all out with it like Mihawk.

People in Wano who are swordsman live and die for their blade. Shanks isn't that extreme.
