Assuming the man with the black ship is the one that captured them (cause he can conjure whirlpools or whatever) and has the last Poneglyph that could set up quite a few things

For one, a good amount of people have been theorizing that Elbaf is where this huge war will take place that completely trumps Onigashima

BB and Shanks obviously need the last Poneglyph, other factions now know how important the One Piece is (you essentially decide the fate of the World if you find it), and Shiryu already theorized that the WG probably isn’t against finding Poneglyphs/rubbings and holding onto them so they can’t be discovered

If the man in the black ship hands Luffy the final Poneglyph or the Strawhats manage to steal it from him and it somehow becomes public knowledge (if they meet Vivi then that means they’ll meet Morgan’s) it’ll be a race to see who can steal the rubbings from the Strawhats before they can get to Laugh Tale

The strawhats being on the defensive getting attacked on all sides would be dope as all hell. That way shanks, Blackbeard, buggy, and akainu can go after them without the strawhats having to go out of their way to find them all
