We all know he's coming back
Elbaf is Kid's arc where Oda will explore his character more and give him big wins.
This is his Arc as PH & DR were for Law's

Looking at Kid's path :
Kid and pre onigashima Luffy are quite similar :
  • Awakened Kid becoming "wisdom king" but not Yonkou, and suffered overwhelming defeat later against a Yonko was his "5th emperor" moment where Luffy got the fame then oneshotted by Kaido for reality check.
  • He and Law with their awakenings didn't KO BM with their attacks just like FS Luffy didn't KO Katakuri with his attack !
  • He and Law both surpassed YCs & Warlords in fame, power and strength just like 5th emperor did but still not as strong as Top tiers
Wisdom King Kidd , 3B > 5th emperor Luffy , 1.5 B
Awakened Kidd > FS Luffy.
One with help could match a Yonko while fs Luffy with help wouldn't match or beat any top tier.
Current Kid's true bounty would still be 2B+ based on his feats and hype even if Oda didn't give him 3B.

Awakened Kid doesn't lack the power to beat/damage top tiers, what he lacks now are defensive abilties to dodge and defend better, and also an ability to counter fs and hax abilities.

Also Kidd fights stronger people in descending fashion while Luffy in the most parts in NW has been fighting opponents in ascending fashion
It's the same way Kid first got awakening and will gain adv haki later while Luffy mastered his haki first before awakening.

Let's look at their YC battles :
  • Kidd : lost to Benn (strongest YC) --> matched a SC (probably Smoothie, anyway every SC is inferior to Benn)
  • Luffy : defeated Cracker (weaker than Katakuri) with help --> matched & "defeated" Katakuri with PU
Their top tiers battles :
  • Kidd : lost to Kaido (strongest Yonko) with help (Killer) --> "defeated" Linlin (she's weaker than Kaido) with help (Law) and PU --> lost to Shanks (he is weaker than Linlin) offguard
  • Luffy : defeated Kaido after having so much help and suffering 4 losses --> dominated Kizaru & Saturn
So the next top tier Kid will fight in elbaf will be weaker than Shanks ! And Kid will beat him 1v1, at least match him till last moments.
That person may be nerfed Linlin(suffered grievous injuries from the lava experience) or an admiral.

If you recall Oda did a showdown 3B vs 3b class fights : Garp vs Kuzan, Law vs Teach (who's nearly 4B, that's why he lost mid diff ), Luffy vs kizaru
bar for Kidd who fought someone out of his class : a 4B Yonkou!
For months I've agreed with @Albino 👑 many times when it comes to this 3B class fight between sn trio and Admirals.

He's about to fight an admiral in Elbaf!
We got Monkey vs Monkey in Luffy vs Kizaru,
So we will have Kid will fight Aramaki at Elbaf, a red BULL VS GREENBULL
Kid will match and beat Aramaki or whoever 1v1.

What do you mean Shanks is weaker than Linlin? Slander!

Anyhow, I can still see Kidd as a new WB. Kidds durability is much higher than Zoro or Laws (1 hit KO aside). His AP is quite broken as well. But he does seem to be quite low in CoO and maneuverability. He somehow needs to fix that weakness because no matter how sturdy he is he cant keep taking shots. Very similar to Linlin in that regard. Maybe his true awakened DF can boost his CoO and movement just like Enel, then he would become a real threat.

Do you actually believe he comes back? i mean sure this arc is his last chance.. But considering the narrative. What will that accomplish?
Shanks is no longer here. And nothing is tying him to Elbaf. Why would an Admiral come here? There is so much in your post that needs further exploring.

Be like Zoro fans and actually write a detailed topic that make sense even if it does not come true lol.

Durability if you count him covering himself in his metal sure. But he himself is not durable than Zoro.. He was taken down by 1 attack from Shanks.

While we do believe Hakai is far stronger than Shank's Kamusari. And Zoro was able to stand and fight even after tanking it for few seconds (most attacks last few seconds anyways.. Kid with 1 slash was done for)..

I’m referring to all the hits Hawkins transferred to Kidd and also to all the hits Kidd took from Big Mom. I think Zoros resolve and mental fortitude is right up there with the best in the series but his physical durability seems to me to be less than Kidds. Absolutely no shame in it, Kidd seems to be built like a tank and one of the very strongest builds of regular humans.

A top tier that can be beaten by Kidd doesn't exist.
YC2 is not even close to beating any top tier.
Remember this. Pro power scaling advice. For free.
He will have his narrative purpose but beating top tiers in 1vs1 ain't it.

Will Kid come back? Yes.
Will he have a fully fleshed out arc? Unlikely. His defeat by Shanks' hand was his fall from grace. Kid will get character development off screen and will return already changed to add his new power ups to Nika's allies against the giant villain.

I mentioned it earlier, Elbaf might be the last arc the admirals can go all out. They can’t go all out in MJ because they need to protect the CDs.

We already know that destroying Yggdrasil will destroy Elbaf. Perhaps the WG sends Akainu and the marines to destroy Yggdrasil so the giants can’t pose a threat to them.

Akainu is like the Sutur of Elbaf.

We get Luffy vs Akainu
Kid and Law vs GB and Fuji
SHs vs Seraphim and VAs

S-Hawk is a perfect opponent for Zoro. He is Mihawk + King + Daz Bones

But the mariejois opponent for Zoro will obviously be Nusjuro. S-Hawk would be a good stepping stone.

My guess is that whereas Wano Zoro needed to cut King when his flames were down, Elbaf Zoro could cut down flame on S-Hawk.

Alot of things "could" happen

The point is, which was made pretty obvious; The seraphim are vegapunks last and ultimate (the word that was used on Japanese) creation, and we already saw most of Shs struggle against them

The next time they fight the main cast I would be not surprised if it's literally around the finale, in their "perfect" form

Nope , it's the relevency of Kidd which feels forced.
- He ain't going anywhere shanks.
- Admirals and Kidd have mo build up at all.
- a holy knight is a much better option for him , possibly shanks brother.

It fits

The great pirates all have bounties in the 4-5 bil range. Kid and Law are only worth 3 bil. They will likely get one more bounty boost to reach the milestone of Shiki and WB, Roger’s rivals. Beating admirals would do it.

If they’re in Elbaf and the admirals invade, no reason they wouldn’t fight them. They fought marines alongside Luffy in Sabaody.

As for the SHs, Zoro beating S-Hawk would be a significant progression towards his dream.
