So Luffy could damage steel back in Baratie, but couldn't damage steel in Sabody despite getting way stronger. Even the M3 together had trouble breaching steel in Sabady. Luffy and Zoro also equal physical strength as shown in Whiskey Peak, which is after Baratie.

This steel topic doesn't add nor take away from either Luffy or Zoro.

As for why he wasn’t denting it it’s likely the same reason as to why franky or queen doesn’t get dented aka they’re “humans”. They just just have the tech combined in their body
The vinsmoke are a lot more likely to dent due to it being genetic based + regen

Zoro broke Hachi steel swords before he could cut Mr. 1. That means not at metal are equal in strength and thickness. I thought everyone knew that. I guess not.

Zoro was complaining about not be able to cut mr 3's vax that was compared to steel(or iron). Then he fight dude who is superior to mr 3 who is made of steel(or iron). And luffy was not able to break mr 3's wax. So you can not make it bad for zoro, because he never interacted with don krieg's steel and he broke hachi's very dense swords. It can just mean that don krieg's armor is cheap.

1. It took multiple attacks for luffy to get through kriegs armor
2. Blunt damage is just straight up more effective than cutting attacks when zoro can’t cut something
3. Density matters
4. Yes zoro has attacks comparable in power to luffy’s so yeah he should be able to dent things he can’t cut
5. Zoro straight up says he couldn’t cut steel pre timeskip and that he couldn’t cut iron pre alabasta
