Fuck no!

God knows I have my fair share of problem with Wano but pretending that it is as bad as this absolute fucking shit show is misguided at best, disingenuous at the very worst.
Oh, I am not implying these last few arcs of OnK is as bad as Wano. Not yet, anyway.

What I meant to say was, Laka is writing this arc like Lolda writing Wano: no coherence, not recognizing his own characters, bullshit plots that went nowhwre, and always prioritizing the wrong things.

Aka outdid himself and made an even more mid ending than Kaguya-sama. :gokulaugh:
Kaguya-sama ending I thought was fine, I personally had no problem with it with the exception of the whole Ishigami and Iino situation.

But when it comes to Oshi no Ko, if this was how the series is going to end, it is just straight up trash.

Everyone is different but for me, the ending being trash doesn't completely ruin the series or ruin the previous arcs, however it does unfortunately downgrade the series.

Aka would rather have Aqua be dead than have Aqua get with Kana at the end.💀

Also I know romance was not the main focus of the series, but there was still romance involved in the story, and there was still some build up at the end for the romance subplot.

But Aqua being killed just makes all the romance subplot all for nothing.

Kaguya-sama's second half was weak asf imo, and the ending was way too average.

I mean, in the 2nd half of Kaguya-sama alone:

1. Kaguya and Miyuki somehow felt both like a background element and a central dynamic. They became a lot less interesting to follow.
2. Ishigami was turned from an interesting character to a simp for his senpai that couldn't get a clue, and this lasted a loooooong ass time.
3. IshiMiko and HayaChika went completely offscreened ffs.
4. Maki was treated as a joke in another overlong subplot that literally lasted until her final panel in the series.
5. The overlong plotline with Kaguya's fucked up family is boring.
6. The less said about the final arc of the series, the better.

Since you mentioned not having problems with Kaguya ending, I'm not gonna debate that, although I do think it's a weak ending.

No disagreement with your OnK opinion whatsoever, tho. It's dumpster fire of the highest order. Literally made the whole series pointless. The long-awaited movie arc tanked because Aka ardently pushed for the incest angle to the point people mock OnK as "that series about incest" and the final arc felt like reading a shittier version of Onigashima. Fucking unreal.

Welp, time to guess Oshi no Ko's endgame, I guess.

I believe Hoshino Aqua will become a God, in reward for his service to the people around him, and AI's legacy.

Japanese mythology is full of humans who became worshipped as Gods after their death.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arahitogami

AI, at the least, has been heavily referenced to have become a God. IMO, this is why AI has not been reincarnated in this series: in the Season 2 opening, Fatale, the ending shows AI revealing herself in the audience as watching Aqua perform the Play Tokyo Blade. This is showcasing that AI is watching Ruby and Aqua, but as a God, rather than as a human. This also juxtaposes how demonic Mengo-san was drawing Hikaru in the last few chapters.

So, Aqua, in dying to protect Ruby, and the lives of so many others, to avenge AI, his Idol and Mother's death, will be given a choice:

Became a God and live in heaven with AI;

Or, be resurrected as Aqua, and live out the rest of his life as a mortal besides Ruby, Kana, Akane, Mem-Cho, Oka-san Miyako, and everybody else.

If this is correct, I'd expect Aqua to discuss his God-dom with AI, herself, before choosing to return to earth to protect Ruby.

Bonus points if Ruby and Aqua have a kid, and the child is Hikaru's reincarnation, but with no memories. Despite my immense love for Kana x Aqua (wonderful natural chemistry), I'm convinced AKanakane is real, and Kana and Akane will end up together. Extra bonus points if Aka and Mengo tease a Ruby x Kana x Akane x Aqua foursome.

This entire time, AI was a God watching over her children and protecting them.

Everything was fine until you got to the stupid dumb incest shipping and the dumb foursome.

Serously wtf, I think you're reading the wrong Oshi no Ko.

Also I highly doubt all of that god stuff is going to happen.

164 spoilers semi confirms that Aqua died, and there are only two more chapters left. 165 will either confirm that Aqua truly died or if it's a fake out and he survived.

Also because there are only two more chapters left, I don't think Aka will have enough time to fit all the god stuff.
