I do understand. I understand that your critics (globally) are empty and filled with biases and expectations.
I understand that right now, you think you are making a genuise point. You are not. You are defending a problematic behavior.
You are free to do what you want. I'm free to call out your BS and the reason why you are lead to think like that.
Not on this forum. Actually never on this forum. And I rarely see this in the overall fanbase as well. Everyone do critic One Piece when it needs to. You are inventing a blind group of fan just to spread hatred.
What you don't understand is that this hatred has political and social interaction. I don't care what you like or don't like, what I care about is the state of the fanbase and how this state can influences behaviors.
What you completely miss, is that I'm not trying to tell you that you are wrong because I do no agree, I'm trying to tell you that you are wrong, because this hatred that you (you as in this forum fanbase) are spreading is having an impact on the behaviors toward others fans, toward the authors, toward the person working on this franchise and can, ni the end, become the reason why we end up with a very toxic fanbase.
I'm talking here from experience, because I already witnessed this exact phenomena with other fanbase, who have become the hive of the most problematic behaviors.
It's not about me here.
That's actually the opposite. Random readers do not come to this conclusion. This conclusion comes from long time fans who are so invested in the story that they create illegitimate expectations. And those expectation, when not met, create dissapointment and hatred.

Negativity is not a fatality. And good criticizm do not necessarily have to be negativity. I can for example talk about the problematic representations of One Piece without being negative.
The problem are the behaviors here.
"don't touch ma negativity, you inhuman person" Vibe.
There is absolutely nothing wrong in wanting to create an environment where critics will be positive instead of negative. Where the problems of the story will be constructive instead of destructive.
"The sociopathic and inhumane as F" thing to do is to consider that global negativity is the new normal and must not be touched.
"People who want a safe and constructive place are the toxic ones" vibe. Again.. proving why we can't get along.
Calling problematic a system that is simply more positive but that you can't stand because YOU HATE the story and it's NOT NORMAL that other people do not.
Stop reading One Piece really if you have so much problem being positive about it.

I'm acting smug when I see smugness. I don't mind good and respectfull critics and reasonnable behavior. But I really have no reasons to be respectfull for people who disrespect/attack others without reasons or disrespect illegitimately a story that is objectively excellent.
I act smug in reaction, and in full awareness of this behavior, not because it's who I am. Show me respect, reason, attention, and you will get the same. Show me negativity, bigotry or toxicity and I will act smug.

Yes but let's be honest, what is this doing for you in the long run? This does not help you at all in real life. Forums like this are meant to be a mere hobby, you shouldn't take them this seriously. I mean really, so what if a few people here are toxic? You're not a moderator and you never will be one, so why bother worrying about it?
