I think that's a bummer, since's he's a cool character, but it is what it is.
Marineford didn't do him any favors. And Cross Guild is just Oda's roundabout way ot shoehorning him into the story so his fight against Zoro isn't some lame sidequest and can actually be part of the narrative.


Mihawkbros should unironically wank Shanks harder than Shanks fans since they depend on him to get indirect portrayal.

I believe he could be equal to them or slightly below them, but that isn't exactly based off this bounty stuff. More of just because he's a future fight for Luffy and Luffy is already a mid or high top tier.
You make a solid point about the bounties, but even then this would still at least put the Yonko equal to the Admirals.
And Blackbeard was a weird case since he did nothing until he beat Ace and killed Whitebeard at Marineford.

Yeah I don't use any of this solely for powerscaling either. All this does is add fuel to the fire that is Akainu vs Luffy which should be an obvious matchup narratively but people disregard it because they believe Akainu is too weak to be a threat

I think the Yonko and the Admirals are roughly equal. I have no reason to believe Kizaru would ever lose to Blackbeard or Big Mom. You can even take out the fact that he was partially sandbagging against Luffy and his ability to completely dominate Snakeman alone gives him a better matchup against them in my book

The only Yonko that I would say clears every Admiral excluding (and this is still a maybe) Akainu is Kaido

Doubly so when this bounty is highlighted as something only Whitebeard and Roger, pirate king level characters, could achieve. It’s special regardless of where it comes from because it represents a height and level to the reader

Not saying it's purely for that. But him leading the entire navy is still something you need to consider.
For the record, I do believe Sakazuki is a god tier. He's one of only four Marines to be a god tier (Prime Garp, Prime Sengoku and Kong are the other three). But I just wanted to point that out.

Luffy (while being half serious) is the only person to ever dominate two top tiers at once yet people say he sucks cause he got fed by Kizaru or whoever that fed him.
