He didn't hint at shit, he's just a garbage writer who uses the SBS to "fix" things he gave zero thought to previously.

What changes? Yes you can say Kizaru won round 1, but do people genuinely think that this one round showed the highest amount of output Luffy is capable of? A single named attack, two notable instances of unnecessary damage in the form of the laser barrier and protecting Vegapunk, and 2 chapters of G5 shows that's all Luffy is capable of?
This is one of the those cases where one guy technically won the fight, but I think the other guy is overall stronger when I factor in his other performances. Luffy's next use of G5 lasted a lot longer, he used multiple named attacks, flattened Kizaru and Saturn, fended off the Gorosei etc, so there's no way I'm going to say Kizaru is above Luffy based off a single round with so many asterisks attached to it.

1) implies he got up and was functioning sooner
2) implies he could have killed him
3) supports the idea he wasn't trying to beat him, maybe even hoping he'd lose
4) supports the idea he was mentally nerfed in Egghead in general
5) absolutely eliminates the idea that Luffy got the better of him in any way

Kizaru was not trying to beat him but Luffy is also not trying to beat him just trying to stop him...and Luffy didn't use any ad haki skills except using once so Luffy was not at full power either...mentally disturbed but not like it stopped him from doing sloppy job in killing vegapunk and he was able to do it only when Luffy engaged with Saturn...and him feeding food doesn't mean much like in a same way Luffy can stretch his hand even when he is immoblizied
